We are starting to see more orange and red across the landscape while the weather is starting to cool. While the fall is a season of change in Michigan, it’s also a season in which we begin to see a lot of change in basketball players’ games. In the fall we will start see to see the culmination of the hard work athletes put in during the spring and summer.
Here are some examples of players who will show their drastic improvement through the fall:
Josalynn Norris Josalynn Norris PG River Rouge | 2021 State MI (2021, PG, Taylor High School)
Norris has been a certified gym rat since last high school season ended. She has been polishing her game for months. Look for improved ball handling and efficiency from Norris.
Logan Lewis Logan Lewis CG West Bloomfield | 2021 State MI (2021, G, West Bloomfield)
Lewis was one of my favorite players to watch this spring and summer. She has become a defensive stopper on the perimeter and is willing to simply out grind her opponent. Lewis has an improved jumper with lethal 3 point range.
Izzy Hadley Izzy Hadley PG Clarkston | 2022 State MI (2022, PG, Clarkston)
Hadley will be a different player this season. She has dedicated herself to being in prime physical condition. Hadley can be an energy player that wears down her opponent.
Lillee Gustafson Lillee Gustafson 6'0" | PF Hartland | 2021 State MI (2021, F, Hartland)
Gustafson has really fine tuned every aspect of her game. She’s a matchup nightmare for opposing coaches. With Gustafson’s size, ball skills, and versatility, there aren’t many players statewide that can match up with her effectively.
Grace Goodnough Grace Goodnough 5'11" | PF Lakeland | 2022 State MI (2022, F, Lakeland)
Goodnough was a key varsity player for Lakeland as a freshman. She won’t stop there. Goodnough is an even better player that will lead her school to more wins.
Jordan Banks Jordan Banks 5'10" | SF Bloomfield Hills | 2020 State MI (2020, SF, Schoolcraft)
Banks has always been fast, but this season…..LOOK OUT. She’s even faster and will be a lightning bolt in the open floor. Banks is primed for a big senior season and is a next level prospect.
Jessica Andrew Jessica Andrew CG Brighton | 2022 State MI (2022, G, Brighton)
Andrew is ready to make a big leap in her sophomore season. Her jumper has always been good, but this season, it will be a weapon. Andrew has learned how to get open more and gets more high percentage looks.
LaChelle Austin LaChelle Austin 5'9" | SG Wayne Memorial | 2021 State MI (2021, G, Wayne Memorial)
Austin has always had elite talent, but she’s taken it to another level. She’s a silky smooth scorer and is even more aggressive offensively. Austin is a legit D1 prospect.
