Continue ReadingI get so tickled by ignorance from some of the stuff I see on Twitter and The Gram, and I talk about Under The Radar players a lot and have for many years. I try and explain things over and over in the simplest way yet I’m amazed that people love telling me what someone else said because if you look at the odds on playing at the next level, I have it on my website, you would understand there is NOT something for everyone and if you can play, they will find you. I actually “found” many players that have next-level potential, my Christopher Columbus mentality of finding someone already there but I’m not alone as some of the heavyweights talk about me copying players from their sites that I spoke about years before they knew who they were.
I don’t have to see a player a “hunnid” times to know what I’m looking at, I’m not a writer and I love throwing slang in. I didn’t see enough of four schools in the South Texas Classic, SA MacArthur, SA Marshall, SA Holmes, who had the add-on player I referenced in an earlier article, Avalon Munoz, and Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial. I didn’t spend both days at the event, I’ll make a point to try and fit it in next season, S/O to Marissa from PassThaBall for the assist. I said all of that to say this, a few other players caught my eye and here we go
Alani Fuker2020
Alani Fluker-5’10 F (SA Brennan HS) one of those “never takes a play off” players that just loves to battle and although she’s a couple of inches shy of “the magic number” she plays as if she’s 6’0 or better and one thing I love is that throwback mentality. She rebounds on both ends, she athletic and can attack from the wing as well as finish strong after contact and she was added to Texas Top 100
2021
Ashley CorpusAshley Corpus-5’5 G (SA Southwest Legacy) I talk about “the magic number” a lot while referencing 6’0 because college coaches love that number but another magic number is 8 and I watched her drop at least that amount from BTA, in one game. She makes things happen, she handles the ball under pressure and sees the floor so she’s been added to the Texas Top 100
Sydney Solitaire-5’5 combo (SA Clark HS) right last name because the card game takes patience and memory and when you associate with her playing the one, here’s what I saw. Her pinpoint passes were on the money, she threads the needle in tight situations and her BB-IQ has (heady) by it because she understands how to run a team. Mid to long-range as well as attacks off of the dribble
