Continue ReadingThe class of 2021 is arguably one of the deepest classes to come through the state of Missouri in recent memory. College coaches from across the country have flocked to the Show-Me State to tap the class of 2021 and it is not hard to see why.
Hannah Nilges
This 5’7 junior, who has been committed to Drake since her freshman year, is one of the most consistent shooters in the Show-Me State. Nilges has all the requisite skills that are expected of a division one guard, but she is often overlooked. Nilges has been a major piece of the Missouri Phenom’s EYBL squad that has had great success all over the country in the travel circuit. Nilges is confident, has perfect shooting mechanics, and she looks comfortable shooting from anywhere on the floor. If you leave this kid open, you can almost guarantee she’ll be knocking it down.
Kiyley Flowers
This Kansas City area prospect from Fort Osage High School is headed to division one Saint Louis University. Flowers has a very compact jump shot that she can get off in a hurry, largely due to the fact that she never brings the ball below her shoulders on her jump shot and her vertical jumping ability. Flowers loves the corner three, but she has a range well past the volleyball line and she’s willing to shoot from long distance when necessary. It is worth noting that Flowers is also very capable of knocking down the three-ball off the dribble as well.
Serena Sundell
This kid is a walking bucket. As a sophomore, Sundell surpassed the 1,000 point plateau and set the single-game scoring record by scoring 36 points against Bishop LeBlond (which she had previously set as a freshman at 34 points). At 6′ foot tall, Sundell is one of the taller shooting guards in the Show-Me State. Her height coupled with her smooth natural jump shot makes scoring seem effortless. On the summer circuit, Sundell had a solid summer for Run GMC, where she attracted the attention of several division one programs.
Lauren Brandt
This 5’9 shooting guard is a small school standout from Fatima High School. Last season, Brandt was an All-State performer, largely thanks to her three-point shooting prowess. Brandt has one of the quickest releases of any player in the state and when paired with her nearly flawless form, it’s easy to see why Brandt is widely considered as one of the top shooters in Missouri. Brandt is receiving interest from a number of NAIA and division two schools in the midwest.
