In this article, I’ll run through five must-see 2022’s at the event. Below you can find five players (plus one) who will be watched closely by college coaches.
Aree Beckmann – 5’9 SG – 2022 – Xavier HS
Beckmann is one of the top shooters in the state, regardless of class. When Beckmann displays confidence there isn’t a shot that she can’t make. I think this showcase setting really plays well into her game and I wouldn’t be surprised to see her go off for a couple 20+ point games. Beckmann is an interesting prospect with her easy scoring ability. There are some schools who can’t attend that will be keeping tabs on her.
Alexis Beier – 5’8 G – 2022 – Linn-Mar HS
I am really interested to see Beier this weekend as when I was able to see her over the summer her team was depleted and they played awful. Beier gave me flashes but I am looking forward to seeing her play well to see how high her ceiling is. She is a dynamic guard who has the ability to play with the ball in her hands or without it. I look for her to have a very solid showing at the Expo.
Meg Reitz – 5’11 SF – 2022 – Ballard HS
I first noticed Reitz as a freshman last season at Ballard and then again this summer playing AAU. She has really transformed her game into something worth watching. She is more confident with the ball and she has also gotten stronger physically. She dominated at times this summer during AAU and I am looking forward to seeing how she looks again some of the top players in the 2020 and 2021 classes.
Lauren Wilson – 5’10 PF – 2022 – Springville HS
Wilson has a very solid style of play where she simply just makes plays. She isn’t flashy with her game or anything but keeps plugging along no matter the circumstance. Good post players sometimes can dominate in these types of showcases (see Angela Dugalić in Illinois), and I feel confident that Wilson will do so. A very smart player who has only just started to scratch the surface of her potential.
Kamryn Grissel – 5’9 G – 2022 – CR Prairie HS
There are quite a few Lady Martin Brother 2022’s that will be attending the Expo, but along with Beckmann I am looking forward to seeing Grissel. She really improved her game this summer and I am looking forward to see how she has improved in the three months since. She is a lengthy guard who can play anywhere around the perimeter. I look forward to seeing what she brings.
Hannah Ronsiek – 5’11 SF – 2022 – O’Gorman HS (SD)
Our plus one is one of the most talented players out of South Dakota. Ronsiek is the younger sister of Creighton commit, Emma Ronsiek, and is already a fluid guard in her own right. She is quick with the ball, can score at all three levels, and has been hard at work on her game. I am looking forward to seeing the improvements that Ronsiek sets forth this coming Sunday.
