Kam Dorsey (St. Francis Academy, 2023 #3): This freshman point guard for St. Frances Academy did not miss a beat in SFA’s victory over the Scorpions in day 3 of Oakland Mills Fall Ball league. Despite her young age, she did not appear to have any trouble running the offense of the defending IAAM A Conference champions. With her powerful dribble and decisive moves, offensively and defensively, the freshman made quite a splash in her debut tournament.
Alexia Dockery (Duvall High School, 2021, #2): Poised and in control, Dockery led her ACES team in a runaway 33-31 victory over Atholton High School. Setting the tone for her team’s unrelenting offensive play, Dockery left her defenders in the dust with her consistent outside shot. Her steadying presence on the court set the tone on both ends of the floor, helping her team come up big in this close victory.
Mia Hargrett (Atholton High School, 2022, #3): Though Hargrett’s efforts came up short in her Lady Raider’s loss to the ACES, Hargrett’s strong guard play and smothering defense helped keep her opponent to only 33 points. Only a sophomore, Hargrett’s now impressive skill-set will surely only improve over the course of the season. Surrounded by other tough minded, young guards, she is one of many to watch for on this under-the-radar Atholton squad.
