Our First Top 5
The top 5 in the 2020 class is heavy. With so much talent in this class to be top five was chosen through not just athletic ability but also through leadership and relentless effort demonstrated by these players to help their teams in any way possible to be successful.
The first player to take the top spot in the class of 2020 is Olivia Cochran (Carver-Columbus), the dominate forward for the Lady Tigers has been a force in GHSA basketball. The Louisville commit is a very tough and aggressive player that impacts the game on both ends of the floor. She is a great decision-maker in the post with quick reads to determine which post-move to use to put the ball in the basket. She is a great rebounder who’s size allows her to rebound outside of her area. She runs the floor extremely well and is a vocal leader of her squad.

The Georgia Tech commit Boyd, is a do it all player for a Lady Wildcats team that put together a 45-game winning streak in Georgia. She is one of the most versatile players in the class. With length, athleticism, and skill she serves as one of the toughest matchup problems in the state. She is a tenacious rebounder that serves as a coast to coast threat every time she grabs the board using her great ball handling and speed to weave through traffic in transition. She shoots the three with range both on the catch and off the bounce. She is a competitor in every sense and a great defender on the perimeter.
Weronica Hipp (ELCA) is our number three ranked player in the 2020 class. Edging just ahead of our number 4 player we have her tabbed as the best PG in the state. She is extremely quick and has great ball-handling. Having both the ability to finish at the rim with acrobat style layups and shoot the three-point shot with deep range, she will be one of the states best scorers. She is very fast in transition and makes very good decisions with the ball in her hands as she breaks down defenses and makes playmaking reads.
Genesis Bryant (Lovejoy) is the number four ranked player this year and it was close. Many can make a case for her to be ahead of Hipp because of her importance to the Lady Wildcats squad. A true PG, that is battle-tested, she has proven her toughness on both ends of the floor. She is a floor general that controls the tempo of the game for her team and a leader as she serves as an extension of her coach Cedric King each week. Lastly, what cannot be overlooked is her desire to defend and cause havoc for opponents through her on-ball defense and instinctive reactions to force turnovers.

The second Georgia Tech commit in our top 5, Carter brings a workers mentality to the floor for the Wolves. One of the most physical guards in this class she uses her strong frame to dominate smaller guards on drives to the basket and on the offensive glass. The has the ability to create her own shot off the bounce with good touch on both her three-point and mid-range jumper. She is a leader on the court both vocally and by example as she plays with passion every passion.
