Too often the caliber of defense players show gets buried in sea of offensive statistics.  In this article we look at six defensive monsters of the 2021 class.  And for sport, we look at them from lowest to highest rank.

2021 Jordyn Rowe of Sumner Academy.

#81 Jordyn Rowe, 5'1", PG, Sumner Academy, SHOTime Basketball/Missouri Phenom - Rowe was Kansas City Atchison League 2019 defensive player of the year. She has good, not great, speed end-to-end with the ball, finishes well around the basket with both hands, and is able to split defenders with Eurostep. She has solid three-point range and distributes the ball well to open teammates. Last January she hung 39 points on Shawnee Heights.  Rowe was recently featured in a profile article by Israel Potoczny.

#40 Katelyn Kennedy, 5'7", G, Derby, Central Impact Athletics (CIA) Elite - While Kennedy is an athletic, three-point shooter her reputation is on the defensive end.  Often drawing opposing point guards to defend, that assignment speaks to her quickness and strength required to do so.  She was a Ark Valley Chisholm Trail League Div
