2021
#3 Madison Skelton, 5’8″, G, St. Thomas Aquinas, Next Level Eclipse – Sports In Kansas 5A state tournament team. Very strong ball handler, passer, shooter, and scorer who plays with composure. Quick first step, able to drop off and no-look. Very good with ball fakes. Consummate team player who lifts the level of play of her entire team.
St. Thomas Aquinas guard Madison Skelton attended the Prep Girls Hoops 250 Expo Iowa in October.#16 Paige Craft, 5’7″, PG/SG, Blue Valley North, KC Dream – Blue Star Media’s Mark Davis (5.18) reported: “Strong ball handling and passing skills…Good concepts…Change of speed…Gets to the rim…Improves both shots and passes…Tools are there. Willie Dotson – Craft is a fundamentally sound player with above average ability in all facets of the game. Hi potential, with improved consistency, to be one top guards in Kansas.
#76 Amiah Simmons, 5’7″, PG, Blue Valley Southwest, Team KC Hoops – Recently seen at the PGH 250 Expo in Iowa, Simmons (pictured above at the Prep Girls Hoops 250 Expo Iowa in October) displayed a wide breadth of her abilities. She is quick to the basket off the bounce and showed good hand speed and athleticism. Solid decision making running breaks and helping on the ball stood out. Good quickness on the defensive end as well.
NR Megan Edwards, 5’7″, SG, Blue Valley Northwest – Fast, hustling guard with good bounce. Dangerous three point shooter off the catch. Quick hands who gets down the floor off the steal. Handles and attacks the basket with either hand.
NR Claire Worthington, PG, St. James Academy – Willie Dotson – Elite level shooter, good ball handler, good defender. Claire continues to make her case as one of the elite level shooters in Kansas. Her quick release and unlimited range has helped both her high school and her club team compete in every game. Last year [2019] she had a hand full of 6 or more made 3’s. She averaged at least three made 3’s per game. Claire is a high IQ girl who leaves it all on the court. She could help St. James continue to make strides in the EKL in her junior season.” Averaged 12 points, (50% 3 pt %), 4 rebounds, and 3 assists.
2022
#8 Emajin McCallop, 5’7″, G, Bishop Miege, Next Level Eclipse – PGH’s Clarence Dennis had this to say about her after attending a Miege open gym in September: She is a “…clear option at point for the Stags…,” that she is one of the fastest on the floor, finished well with both hands, and showed varsity control in ball handling drills.” Read more of his observations here.
#9 Jordan Jackson, 6’1″ PF/C, Blue Valley, Missouri Phenom – At the end of last season Jackson was a Topeka Capitol Journal 6A honorable mention all-state selection. Long and athletic she has solid ball skills, end-to-end speed, and three point range. She is able to shot block without fouling and finish with both hands around the basket and with contact. From Steve Reynolds, Lady Baller Insider, “she’s the lightning of the thunder and lightning combo [with Beatrice Culliton] for Missouri Phenom and has the elevation on her pull-up jump shot to die for.”
#61 Gabi Henderson-Artis, 5’9″, F, Bishop Miege, Lady Run GMC – Henderson-Artis had a strong freshman year after being on the Jr NBA championship team the preceeding summer. Dennis noted that she played with a great deal of confidence at the Miege open gym.
