Tenleigh Phelps, 2021, Triton Central & Maya Chandler, 2020, Triton Central
Triton Central is a loaded basketball team with extreme talent. Phelps (14.9 ppg, 7.0 rpg, 2.3 apg) and Chandler (14.4 ppg, 5.1 rpg, 4.2 apg, 3.7 spg) are apart of a big 3 along with Rylie Stephens (14.4 ppg, 6.0 rpg, 2.4 spg) who return for the Tigers this season. Phelps uses her size and skill to just overwhelm defenders in the paint to score. She is really good at being in position to catch the ball, and then make a move to get to her spot and finish through contact. Chandler is a point guard who is very disruptive on the defensive end of the floor, which leads to points in transition. She is capable of making some highlight worthy passes to her teammates and it is a joy to watch.

Vanessa Shafford, 2021 , Linton-Stockton & Aubrey Burgess, 2021, Linton-Stockton
Shafford (16.7 ppg, 7.9 rpg, 4.1 apg, 2.7 spg) has nice ball handling skills who can also score from anywhere on the floor. If you are in need of a major bucket, she is the perfect go-to person in that situation. Playing down low and getting physical with others is a prime attribute of hers. Burgess (12.2 ppg, 2.5 rpg, 2.6 apg, 2.2 spg) is a three-point sniper from beyond the arc and her range is limitless. Once she passes half-court, you need to be prepared to get a hand up because her shot might be going up.
Courtney Blakely, 2021, Hammond Bishop Noll & Rose Fuentes, 2021, Hammond Bishop Noll
Blakely (20.4 ppg, 4.0 rpg, 4.5 apg, 3.0 spg) is a big time scorer who also has the ability to create scoring opportunities for her teammates as well. One of the things that I think goes unnoticed is the way that she comes up with steals by using good judgement and playing the passing lanes. Fuentes (12.1 ppg, 4.8 rpg, 3.4 apg, 2.0 spg) is a great shooter and knows how to get open by moving without the ball. She is a good shot-blocker as well, does a fantastic job in timing it just right.

Kathryn Perry, 2021, Shenandoah & Erikka Hill, 2021, Shenandoah
Perry (17.0 ppg, 3.3 apg, 4.2 spg) does a good job of using an array of dribble moves to get loose from her defenders. I also like how she is very crafty when it is time for her to finish around the rim. Hill (14.7 ppg, 8.8 rpg, 2.8 apg, 4.0 spg) is a perfect complement to Perry because the forward gets set up for multiple scoring opportunities. Battling on the interior and coming up with rebounds is another strong suit of hers.

Wolf (12.8 ppg, 8.0 rpg, 2.3 apg, 3.0 spg) is a very versatile player who can do all the little things that you want. She score inside and out, block/alter shots at the basket, and rebound the basketball. Having the ingredients that she posses makes her one of the best players in the sectional. Tomblin (9.8 ppg, 3.6 rpg, 2.4 apg, 3.2 spg) is just a sophomore, but she put together a nice season last year and is hoping to carry that into this year.
Ilani Williams-Harris, 2020, Covenant Christian-Indy & Bonnie Lew Ludlow, 2021, Covenant Christian-Indy
Williams- Harris (13.1 ppg, 2.6 rpg, 4.8 apg, 2.6 spg) is back for her senior season and is in line to be the first option for Covenant Christian- Indy this year. She has terrific size for a guard, as she is able to play through bumps and finish through contact to score. Her backcourt mate, Bonnie Lew Ludlow (11.1 ppg, 5.3 rpg, 2.4 spg) has all the intangibles to take the next step in her game. She has a nice quick release on her jump shot, which makes it tough for defenders to guard her. Another thing that I enjoy watching is Bonnie’s ability to stop and pop.
Madison Gray, 2021, Union County & Taylor Pinkerton, 2020, Union County
Gray (16.9 ppg, 6.3 rpg) does some many things well and one of them is playing with her back to the basket. I like how she backs down her defender, takes a couple dribbles, and then goes for the turnaround jumper. Her skill set makes her a tough match-up for opponents because of her size and athleticism. Pinkerton could be a huge difference maker for Union County this season. I expect for her to be a good 3-and-D player, since she does a marvelous job in getting steals and is money in the corner from three.
