The summer prior to their junior year is incredibly important for high school athletes who want to play college basketball. That’s when top prospects jockey for position and set the stage for higher visibility as they enter their final year of AAU next spring. If you want to know who made the most of that window this year you have come to the right place, because those are the players who have now taken the biggest steps forward in the new Prep Girls Hoops Class of 2021 rankings. Players like Madge Hoehne of Blaine, Ella Giorgi of Coon Rapids, Gianna Kneepkens of Duluth Marshall and Anna Miller of Rochester Mayo.
Strong summer performances have also led to a reshuffling of the 2021 top 10. Sophie Hart, the 6’4 center from Farmington, had an outstanding stretch during which she established herself on the national scene with a big performance at the Team USA tryouts and backed that up with continued excellence through the end of the AAU season. As a result, Hart moves into the #4 position behind #1 Adalia McKenzie (Park Center), #2 Jenna Johnson (Wayzata) and #3 Katie Borowicz (Roseau).
