With that in mind, here are seven more standout prospects that caught my eye last weekend:
You can check out Part 1 here.
Tymberlin Criswell – 2021 5’8 Point Guard (Houston UTD) The Village HS – The junior floor general has great vision and always knows where her teammates are at on the court. She is a natural facilitator but can also get her own when she wants. Criswell excels at manipulating the defense with her eyes. Her high basketball IQ is evident every time she touches the ball.
Zeryhia-Lee Tuimoloau Aokuso – 2023 5’9 Combo Guard (Pro Skills EYBL) Amarillo HS – The freshman guard comes off the bench for Amarillo, but don’t let that fool you, she is a really talented young prospect. Tuimoloau Aokuso is a physical two-way player. She likes to get inside for high percentage shots whenever she can. This is definitely one of the better all-around freshmen in the state of Texas.
Briley Barnes – 2022 6’0 Power Forward Amarillo HS – Barnes had a huge impact in the championship game of the tournament. She dominated the glass at both ends. She came up big for her team in the fourth quarter with several offensive rebounds. The 2022 prospect also showed that she can stretch out to the perimeter on offense and hit an open three.
Autumn Smith – 2021 5’6 Point Guard Arlington Martin HS – Smith is a good distributor for her team, but she really shines on defense. Her defensive instincts allow her to anticipate passes and get into passing lanes for steals that lead to easy breakaway layups for her and her teammates. She plays with a lot of energy and is also capable of playing off the ball.
Kamen Wong – 2022 Guard (Lady Dragonfly) Frisco Liberty HS – I’ve had the opportunity to see Wong a few times during the summer and she always impressed me. That hasn’t changed. She is a generous passer. The Ball never sticks to her. Wong is a smart player who understands spacing and makes the extra pass when needed. She is also a very capable three-point shooter.
Leila Patel – 2021 5’10 Shooting Guard/Small Forward Centennial HS – Patel is an under-the-radar prospect who can operate on the ball or off it on the wing. She is a consistent shooter from behind the arc from the catch. Defensively, she loves to get up in the grill of opposing ball handlers and puts a lot of pressure on them. Patel is a prototypical 3-and-D player that could provide value for a team at the next level.
Kennadi Harris – 2020 5’8 Power Forward Little Elm HS – Harris may be a bit undersized to play the four, but she has more than enough physicality to compete with taller players in the post. She is sneaky quick, which allows her to do a lot of damage on the drive. She is aggressive in all the right ways which leads to a lot of high percentage looks and/or trips to the free throw line.
