Get ready because this season is setting up to be another great one as many new and former hoopers get ready to set the stage. Here we will focus on a few players who are looking to keep their squads competitive this upcoming season.
Kaniyah Harris | 5’9 G | Flowers 2020
One of the top basketball players in the entire state, Kaniyah Harris is ranked #13 on Prep Girls Hoops 2020 Rankings. Last season, Kaniyah averaged 16.3 ppg and helped lead Flowers to a State Championship win verse Old Mill (57-42). Simply put, Kaniyah is a scoring machine. In the championship game alone, Kaniyah led her team to victory with 23 total points. Kaniyah Harris is a major part of the reason why C.H Flowers is favored to win the Division 4A tournament once again.
Paige Clausen | 5’11 W| Urbana 2021
Junior Paige Clausen is one of the top Wings in the state and she does it all under the radar. One could easily get mesmerized at Clausen’s domination through the lane and just as easily forget that she actually plays the wing. Do that and before you know it, Paige has dropped 15 on you, just ask Walkerville. Paige sinks the three point shot with ease and seems to gain a boost of speed when in transition. Look for Paige to play the entire floor and crash the boards at will. I expect Paige’s stock value to rise even more by the end of the season.
Ny’Ceara Pryor | 5’2 G | Western 2022
Such a good young talent, it’s crazy to think Ny’Ceara Pryor is still ascending in her game. With an infinite motor, Pryor’s quickness through the lane, her incredible handles that she can finesse at will and the unbelievable use of her body, are all just a few specialties this player possesses. She also has top of the line defense, capable of guarding Guards 5’2 and Forwards 5’9. It simply does not matter who you stick in front her, Ny’Ceara is going for the kill. I’m excited we still get three years to watch this players journey.
