Some of the teams may have one player on their team to help them reach their goals for the season mean while others have a 1-2 punch to help boost their team to make a deep run into the playoffs.
Jada Moore & Avery Vansickle (Regis Jesuit)
Last year Regis Jesuit had one of the top players in the country in Francesca Belibi who averaged 21.8 points per game on 385 attempts last year. With her attending Stanford this year as a freshman Jada Moore and Avery Vansickle will have more touches to either score or dish it out to teammates. Last year the two guards combined for 22.7 points per game last year. They can score from any where on the court and both are unselfish players.
Seneca Hackley & Josephine Howery (St. Mary’s)
Hackley and Howery both led their team to two state champions in class 3A and they look to do it again for a 3rd time. These two have great court awareness, and relentless on the defense end. They both combined for 32.9 points per game, and 7 steals per game. Seneca shot the ball 128-281, and Howery shot the ball 192-449.
Shamahra Henderson & Monique Delatorre (Thornton)
Last year Henderson and Delatorre got after on both ends of the floor, and on the glass. They can fill a stat sheet against any opponent, and not afraid of any challenges. They have tremendous hustle, and they can do it all. They combined for 29.7 points per game, 17.2 rebounds per game, 8.2 steals per game. It will be great to see these two continue to fill the stats as they lead Thornton to be a nightmare to play against
Krystina Hagood & Nikki Derrell (Sand Creek)
These two guards are extremely crafty with the ball and there hands, and can get hot behind the arc. Hagood has stepped it up on the defensive end over the summer and will be exciting to see her showcase that this season. The two combined for 25 points per game, 5.3 steals per game, and Hagood averaged 8.0 rebounds a game as a guard, and Derrell lead the team and assist averaging 3.4.
Nadia Treviso-Medina & Aaliyah Sabala (Lakewood)
Nadia and Aaliyah are players that you have to always know where these two are on the court. When both players get it going from the 3 point line, it’s really tough for teams to compete. They are both really quick and they show great ball-handling skills, and they can shoot of the dribble. They combined 20.7 points per game, and 88-290 from the arc. Nadia also leads her team in assist averaging 3.7 a game.
This is just to name a few guard duo’s out in Colorado
