In the first half Anderson kept the game somewhat close, but as the game went on Fisher’s defense was too much for Anderson. Fishers defeated Anderson with a final score of 79-49. Below I will give my thoughts on both teams and the best individual performances.
Anderson:
Anderson is a team with some potential. They have several players who can score and know their roles. As the season rolls on their ability to hit from the outside should give them an edge over some of their opponents.
Trya Ford – 2021 – G
Despite the tough defense, Ford was able to create a ton of opportunities for herself. She shot the ball well from the outside as she hit three times from downtown. Ford was also able to get the hoop and finish several layups and finished with a total of nineteen points
Erin Martin – 2020 – G
Martin was another bright spot in the Anderson offense. She scored well from all three levels finishing with a total of ten points. Martin’s ability to move without the ball adds another level to her game.
Fishers:
Fishers came out and dominated the majority of the game. Defensively they were able to force a ton of turnovers and turn them into points in transition. Fishers is a team with a perfect balance of experience and youth. They can run around six to eight players deep and have several players who can score at a high volume.
Katie Burton – 2021 – PG
Burton dominated every aspect of the game. Burton was beast on the glass finishing with five offensive rebounds and nine total. In transition, Anderson couldn’t keep up with Burton as she scored a ton of points by running the floor and finishing. She finished with nineteen points on eight of sixteen shooting
Tamia Perryman – 2020- F
Perryman made her presence felt all over the floor. She was a force on the glass finishing with nine rebounds and she did a great job defensively. Perryman has the ability to guard multiple positions which makes her extremely versatile. She scored from all three levels knocking down a three and making several nice drives to finish with twelve points.
Kaitlynn Feagan – 2020 – G
Feagen’s shooting touch caught my eye quickly. She knocked down several shots from deep and hit from the mid-range as well. Feagan’s IQ is impressive and it set her apart offensively. She finished with ten points.
Hailey Smith – 2023 – W
Smith came in off the bench and quickly showed she was one of the best players on the floor. She did a little bit of everything. Her ability to play in so many positions makes her very tough to take off the floor. She finished with seven points and five rebounds.
Olivia Smith – 2023 – W
Just like her twin sister, Smith came off the bench and excelled right away. She forced turnovers and crashed the glass hard. Offensively she scored from all three levels and finished with nine points and four rebounds. Smith has a ton to offer when she is on the floor with her skill set.
