Finally saw St Agnes, Heights, Shadow Creek, and Yates at full strength and The Village will be back to “watch out” capacity in a few days with the return of ’20 Emily Dogbaste so as the puzzles become clearer and more complete, here are some names that could pay big dividends.
Aaliyah MaciasAaliyah Macias-Heights- the sophomore guard has steadily improved each season and one thing I can’t mention enough is the fact that she falls into that “plays within herself” category. She hits the shot consistently and she’s is ready to take it anytime, even under pressure and her poise in the clutch will be huge
Abigail Shackleford-Yates- junior guard has one of the quickest releases in the area and she creates her shot under pressure. Speaking of pressure, not in her vocabulary on the court because she delivers from mid to long-range, well she attacks strong as well
Gabrielle Hamilton-Shadow Creek- watching her for what seems like a lifetime I always knew the potential was there as her athleticism and desire stood out at a young age. That hasn’t changed but her being offensive-minded has shown multiple times early this season as she’s instant offense off the bench
Sammy MeyersAiken Semones-The Village School- she changed her hair and I had to take a second look but once she let it fly, I immediately knew who she was. She has been an offensive threat since the 3rd or 4th grade from bta, the long-range is still there but she mixes the mid in nicely as well as driving in for baskets
Sammy Meyers-St Agnes- one of those players that have flawless form as she lets it go while being closely guarded, that’s something you can’t teach and something that she has had for a long time. Sometimes it appears as if she’s playing “around the world” as she can shoot it from everywhere. Another plus, she’s attacking very strong
