The Madden Turkey Leg Award has been a part of sports and Thanksgiving traditions for years. It’s time for our 2nd annual Hankamp’s Turkey Day Award. The Hankamp’s Turkey Day Award is given to a Michigan high school basketball player that makes fans proud and thankful to be able to watch her play. In 2018, the Hankamp’s Turkey Day Award was given to Rickea Jackson Rickea Jackson 6'2" | SF Detroit Edison | 2019 State MI . She has set a high standard for the award, now starring at Mississippi State.

Gabby Elliott (2020, SF, Detroit Edison)
Elliott absolutely has to be a Hankamp’s Turkey Day Award winner. She carries on the Detroit Edison tradition, following Rickea Jackson Rickea Jackson 6'2" | SF Detroit Edison | 2019 State MI as a winner of the Hankamp’s Turkey Day Award. Elliott is one of the top 15 seniors in the country and will be playing at Clemson next year. She’s smooth and athletic off the wing. Elliott is an intelligent player with a keen understanding of the game. Elliott carries herself with such a great demeanor. Confident yet classy, you can tell she’s great just by the aura she has when walking into a gym. If a young player wants to know how great players should carry themselves, watch Gabby Elliott.
Cameron Grant Cameron Grant 6'0" | PF Macomb Dakota | 2020 State MI (2020, F, Macomb Dakota)
Grant is one of the most versatile prospects in Michigan’s senior class. She can guard from the perimeter to the paint. On the other end, Grant is a matchup nightmare for opposing coaches. Grant will be taking her basketball talents to Ball State next season. What makes her truly special is her approach to the game. Grant never worried about rankings or what other recruits were doing. She just showed up to the gym every day and trusted her hard work. Grant is an excellent student and should be a role model for the next generation.
