Thanksgiving and sports seem to almost go hand in hand. Many people have long standing holiday traditions that involve sports. The Madden Turkey Leg Award has been a part of sports and Thanksgiving traditions for years. It’s time for our 2nd annual Hankamp’s Turkey Day Award. The Hankamp’s Turkey Day Award is given to a Michigan high school basketball player that makes fans proud and thankful to be able to watch her play. In 2018, the Hankamp’s Turkey Day Award was given to Rickea JacksonRickeaJackson6'2" | SFDetroit Edison | 2019StateMI. She has set a high standard for the award, now starring at Mississippi State.

Gabby Elliott (2020, SF, Detroit Edison)

Elliott absolutely has to be a Hankamp’s Turkey Day Award winner. She carries on the Detroit Edison tradition, following Rickea JacksonRickeaJackson6'2" | SFDetroit Edison | 2019StateMI as a winner of the Hankamp’s Turkey Day Award. Elliott is one of the top 15 seniors in the country and will be playing at Clemson next year. She’s smooth and athletic off the wing.
