The format was perfect for those wanting to showcase their skills in front of College Coaches and get a run in before the start of the upcoming season.
Riley Rottinghaus, 6’2″ PF/C, Nemaha Central High School comes in at #32 in the Kansas Girls Prep Hoops Rankings. Riley plays with energy on both ends of the floor. She is a good defender and offensively she can get out and run with her guards in transition. Rottinghaus knows how to get positioning and score the ball when given the opportunity. Riley is capable of stepping out beyond the arc and knocking down the 3. She has a nice mid-range game to go along with offensive arsenal. Look for Riley Rottinghaus to put her bid in for 3A Kansas All-State Honors this season.
Kori Babcock, 5’6″ G, Chanute High School comes in at #60 in the Kansas Girls Prep Hoops Rankings. Kori has some nice form on her shot, you instantly know she is a shooter when she releases it. Babcock likes to get to that sweet spot at either elbow where she consistently hits it. Her 3 point range is very good and she can catch fire quickly from distance. Kori should easily average double digits points for this season. If Kori Babcock can consistently knock-down 3-4 three-pointers per game, she’ll be in the conversation for 4A Kansas All-State Honors this season.
Cassidy Corby, 5’5″ G, Nemaha Central High School is not ranked in the Kansas Girls Prep Hoops Rankings. Cassidy is a competitor whether she is competing on the golf course or the basketball court. Corby will be looking to get more minutes for Nemaha Central, last season she came off the bench as a contributor. Cassidy can shoot and she has some accuracy when she shoots the ball. She is a smart player and just an all-round good teammate that is an asset to her team. Cassidy Corby should earn some quality minutes as a starter this season and crack the Kansas Girls Prep Hoops Rankings.
Kelbe Edwards, 5’11” PF/C, Fredonia Jr-Sr High School is not ranked in the Kansas Girls Prep Hoops Rankings. Kelbe has some nice size and has elevated her game from last season to now. She has a physical style of play and she does the dirty work down-low for her team. Edwards is a Ballhawk when it comes to rebounding, she knows how to get good positioning and hold it. She has good hands that help her to catch the ball in traffic. Kelbe can score the ball in the paint with contact and she’s a good passer out of the post. Kelbe Edwards should have a breakout season in her Junior season and she’ll earn her way into the Kansas Girls Prep Hoops Rankings before the season ends.
