One thing is clear, watching a player that excels playing out of the post is extremely rare. But there is a diamond in the rough in 2 sport star Aliyah Green.
The 6’3 Class of 2021 Forward, Aliyah plays to her outstanding skill set in the post. The Class 5 1st team All-District selection averaged 10pts, 8rebs, 2 ast, & 2 blks per game for her Ray-Pec Lady Panthers squad as a Sophomore.
Aliyah uses her track speed and agility to her advantage on the hardwood. Her ability to run the floor is outstanding at her size. Aliyah beats her defender down the floor on almost all occasions. When she does play in the passing lanes, she finishes all layups on fastbreaks. Aliyah has excellent hands when she rebounds both on Offense and Defense. She is a high-level rebounder, as she is quick off her feet to get to the ball.

Rebounds it well and gets up off the floor aggressively and attacks the ball. Aliyah is a high level rim protector and her ability to block shots frightens her opponents when the try to drive to the basket.” Joel Webb – Director KC Dream basketball
Aliyah has elite level ability defending the paint. She not only guards her position but is solid coming over from the weak side to help her teammates. Quick off her feet and has great timing to block shots. Most of her blocks quickly turn into fast break opportunities as well.
Her post-ups are solid and aggressive and she uses picks well and flashes hard to the ball. Aliyahs’ post moves are strong and she gets to her spots around the basket and finishes at a high level. For most post players, their handle is not strong. Aliyah can score off the bounce from the mid-range area. Her releases at the basket are quick. She plays with an aggressiveness that puts her defender on her heels when she attacks the basket.
“Aliyah has both size, quickness, and strength to become a great power forward. She ran track most of her life and uses that aspect of her skill set to get up and down the court ot her game. Shes great finishing around the rim and can even step out and knock down a mid-range jump shot” Joel Webb – Director KC Dream Basketball
Aliayah has college interest from Kansas State, Missouri, Southern Illinois, UMKC, Howard University, and Hampton University. As we close into the start of the 2019-2020 basketball season here in Missouri, the basketball community will be buzzing with anticipation. Aliyah will be a player making some noise and opening eyes as she displaying her solid post game and improving skill set.
