I’ve mentioned most of these players numerous times, Jada Malone (The Village) is one of the top 2021 players in the country while Bre’Yon White (Shadow Creek) is one of the top juniors in Texas as well as Tierra Simon (Heights) so they’ve been on my radar for a minute or two. RyLee Grays (The Village) just continues to elevate her game and hopefully, the number is right on the roster for Amayia Price (Lancaster) because if it is, she will be joining Grays as one of the states top freshmen
Tierra Simon defendingJada Malone-6’5 F- Malone ignites the break, runs the floor and finishes so many times that it’s taken for granted by the novice evaluator but I look at everything. She finishes strong, has good hands and footwork but heer ability to finish with the right or left just keeps defensive players guessing. I’ve mentioned her rebounding defensively but she does the same offensively, quite well and as she keeps showing over and over she can shoot it from outside, that includes the three-ball, college offers will keep piling up
Tierra Simon-6’1 P-Simon loves to battle and she too finishes consistently and with authority but one of her biggest attributes is you won’t outwork her as she brings it play after play. Her progression each year has definitely been noticed as she has gone from just a rebounder and defender in the paint to a legitimate offensive threat inside and has shown she can face the basket and score. The icing on the cake is her passing ability from the post position as she can see hit her teammates efficiently
Bre’Yon White elevatingBre’Yon White-6’1 F-White impressed from day one back in middle school and the Louisana native showed me she would be on the of the top Texas players in her class almost immediately. Her athleticism is just part of it, she elevates on her jumper with ease, she outjumps taller opponents but her desire is just something you can’t teach. Mid to long-range, attacks off the dribble, spins in the paint, fadeaway jumpers, even the step-back shows that she can fill it up a variety of ways
Amayia Price-6’0 F- Lancaster is pronounced lank-eh-ster, and I still mispronounce it but this freshman showed plenty of upside and I’ll be using “the Price is right” many times. You have athletic players and you have ultra-athletic and her upside is scary, seriously she has a chance to shoot up big time. She jumps out of the gym, she has range and she handles the ball but her acrobatic drives, her ability to defy gravity and she can play multiple positions are all huge
Amayia PriceRy’Lee Grays-6’3 P- Grays keeps impressing me, yeah I knew she would be a D1 player in the 5th or 6th grade because of her size, agility and she could finish but she keeps adding and is falling into that “nightmare to defend” category as well as #BCSLock. She mixes it up nicely on offense, even showed me long ball during the event but she runs the floor, defends inside and outside and can punish, on both ends of the court. One thing I do know is that her poise exceeds her years and she is nowhere near done
