Finding a way to play your best basketball come March requires a total team effort. For the Lady Tigers of Lincoln College prep, making a run to the state championship game without standout floor general Amari Conn speaks to how solid of a team they have. There is some unfinished business these ladies will set their sights on for the 2019 – 2020 season.
PLAYER SPOTLIGHT: Amari Conn 5’7 Point Guard C/O 2020
Missouri Phenom AAU – Committed to TCU; Offers/Interest from: Houston, Oklahoma State, UCLA, SLU, Penn State, Texas State, and Florida.
Photo credit D Woods PhotographyThe stand out point guard suffered a torn ACL in the first round of the state championship playoffs last season. As she works her way back to full health, the TCU commit will be a major problem for opposing defenses this year. Amari is an explosive guard. She is a tenacious defender on the ball and excellent when playing help-side defense. Her defensive IQ, lateral quickness, speed, and agility are elite-level skills. Amari is a knockdown three-point shooter. Gifted in the mid-range on catch and shoot situations, as well as off the bounce. Her handles are tight and she uses them to both get to any spot on the floor, all with creating off the dribble to set up her teammates. Amari has a nice pace to her game, never letting the defense speed her up. A true floor general and at her size a solid rebounder at the point guard spot.
“Amari is a defensive beast. She disrupts the opponents offensive flow. Amari’s ability to knock down shots in the mid-range is heroffensive strength. Her leaping ability is unparalledled in relation to her height, which takes many opponents by surprise. Amari is very quick and explosive on both ends of the floor.” Coach Nafeesa Fajri – Lincoln College Prep

Amari Conn’s backcourt running mate, Ajanee is a solid lead guard. She runs the floor well and is not afraid to go rebound and start the break. Ajanee finishes everything around the rim. Either getting out on fast breaks or creating for herself off the bounce. She is a willing passer and uses her speed and agility to make plays and find her teammates for layups. Ajanee’s leadership on the court shows up in her on-ball defense and her high defensive IQ off the ball.
Ajanee is an explosive and dynamite packed guard. Her aggressiveness is her calling card and something she can always count on. She is our primary ball-handler and her leadership skills will be needed this year. Ajanee is by far one of the quickest guards I have seen baseline to baseline.” Coach Nafessa Fajri – Lincoln College Prep
PLAYER SPOTLIGHT: Chorus Davis 5’6 Point Guard C/O 2021
Next Level Eclipse – Offers / Interest from: UMKC, Rice, and Southern Illinois
Chorus is an elite level ball handler. She is unguardable on the perimeter and is very

Chorus has a high-level basketball IQ, which she uses to play off the ball. A solid knockdown shooter from three, she also excels in the mid-range. On defense, Chorus uses her speed and quickness to control the player she is guarding. Her quick hands allow her to get steals and deflections both on the ball and playing in the press. A willing rebounder, Chorus plays tough at her position. Gets out on the break well and finishes everything.
” Chorus’s basketball IQ has grown tremendously over the past few years. She is inquisitive about the game and has an insatiable appetite for the game. A fluid ball handler that gets to the rim easily. She has increased her shooting efficiency from three and in the mid-range, both of which are qualities that make her standout in her class. A starter since her freshman year, Chorus never folds under pressure. Lincoln will need this resiliency during the upcoming season.” Coach Nafessa Fajri – Lincoln College Prep
Most teams do not have the luxury of having that one lead guard to control things on the court on both ends of the floor. Once Top 5 ranked Amari Conn gets back healthy, the Lady Tigers will have 3 outstanding lead guards. All three of these players will be heard from this 2019 – 2020 season. All eyes will be watching to see if Lincoln can get back to that elusive state championship game and take care of unfinished business.
