These 2021’s have made a name for themselves and continues to just get better. Next level players who coaches should know and keep an eye on. Their Junior year should be really good to watch
1. Morgan Bentley, 5’10”, SG, Vinton County. Morgan has good size and Hi Basketball IQ. She is a wing player at the next level. Can shoot the ball from deep, has solid handles, can post up smaller guards and forwards. Rebounds the ball well, has put in the work to get faster and it shows. A versatile player who does what her team needs to win, a big reason Vinton County has dominated the TVC.
2. Kaylee Darnell, 5’7”, SG, Wheelersburg HS/SCBC is a scorer who is very adept at getting to her spot on the floor. Elevates nicely when she gets there to finish over bigger defenders. Darnell is a 3 level scorer who will hits the midrange jumper, just as well as the 3 ball. Hi IQ player who sees the floor well as makes good decisions with ball. Improving defender who works hard, anticipates well and comes up with steals.
3. Kenzie McConnell,6’, F, Circleville HS/OHLHE21 is a Strong, Physical forward who is relentless on the backboard. A double double player night in and night out. Has a very good knack to finish around the basket. Solid 15-17’ shooter who is improving her range out to the 3 point line. Her high motor and IQ makes it hard on both smaller and bigger forwards alike. Understands how to move without the ball and get open.
4. Jacey Justice, 5’7”, G, Peebles HS/Cap City Comets. Jacey’s forte’ is scoring the ball, always moving without the ball to get open. She can score on a very good mid range pull up, hit the Trey or get into the lane and score. What I like about her is the Mid Range game, she elevates on every shot and it allows her to shoot over bigger defenders, she shouts the ball really well off the bounce. Plays hard and gets in passing lanes. Hi IQ player, really understands how to score the ball and get open for opportunities.
5. (Tie)Myriah Davis, 5’6”, PG, Vinton County is a tough physical PG. floor general and sees the floor really well. Looks to be right back to form from last years injury. Scores in a variety of ways and takes what the defense gives her. Sry good ball handler and a Solid defender who makes the offensive player work. Key to Vinton County’s Tournament foals this year.
5. (Tie)Ava Hassel, 5’5”,G,Portsmouth ND should really showcase her ability to score the ball this season. A very good ball handler with several moves to get into the lane where she can finish or dish the ball to an open teammate. Good range on her jumper, gets out in transition quickly and looks to attack the defense. A 94’ defender who is aggressive on the defensive end.
