Trinity Christian (Cedar Hill) came to town for the Lady Bronco Classic filled with high octane players that I totally missed for PGH Texas 2020 Top 100 however unlike many, I simply overlooked some players I hadn’t seen in years yet Oral Roberts signees Tyaija Coleman, twin sister Tierney Coleman and Addisyn Moore, will be added to that list joining New Orleans signee Ericca Richardson as the defending TAPPS 5A State Champion showed why they would win many public school districts in the state which answers the question, why was I at this event, because talent is everywhere, providing you know what you’re looking at. I’ll also give you something on a talented John Cooper squad as well as some huge takeaways from tournament champion The Village
Ericca RichardsonEricca Richardson-5’8 G-when you have a mom that ran in the Olympics, you’re probably going to inherit some impressive genes and “Levi’s” are the strongest made and there’s nothing like starting off with a homophone. The ironic part about it is Richardson started playing basketball right before high school and as impressive as she was over the summer, her range has extended and her ability to score multiple ways continues to amaze me, not to mention her defense.
Tyaija Coleman & Elexa Richardson
Tyaija Coleman-5’9 G- I’m just amazed and tickled pink, well not exactly, but using the search bar on my website and what I said about this young lady heading into high school was prophetic but it usually is. I love players that play the passing lane, that’s a known fact but she brings heat the length of the floor and her acceleration and pull-up jumper is hard to handle
Elexa Richardson-5’11 W- not to be confused with Alexa but she definitely “echoes” older sister’s Ericcas inheritance from mom. She’s long, athletic and showed me she could attack from anywhere in the opening game but that form, as well as outside shooting in the championship game, tells me a lot about her upside as she’s only a sophomore
Tierney ColemanTierney Coleman-5’8 G-when you impress me before high school and I’m thinking you’re heading to your junior year, this is what separates me from many, I know what I’m talking about. Her poise, as well as her skill set, just stood out at a very young age and she has continued to expand and elevate her game shooting from NBA range and just bringing heat offensively and defensively.
Addisyn Moore
Addisyn Moore-5’11 PF-old school mindset of “you won’t outwork me” as she battles for everything on both ends of the court, diving on the floor or in the stands, she is somewhat overpowering in the paint finishing strong after contact. When you can ignite the break with the rebound and outlet and finish on the other end, that’s desire, that’s also something you can’t teach
Jessica MitchellJessica Mitchell-5’11 F- Moore’s injury in the first half of the championship game showed me even “more” of Mitchell as she was serviceable, to say the least, and made her presence felt both offensively and defensively as she helped her team stay within striking distance
This squad is solid, I’m going to try to catch them at the Coca Cola DISD event during my Christmas trifecta plus one and watching Coach Hawkins and Coach Coleman brought back some positive memories
