Continue Reading2020 is a deep class in the DMV. We have known that since these players were in middle school. Some of the top players in the class collected over 30 division one offers. Unfortunately, not all players are blessed to have such good fortune so I am sharing the best of the unsigned seniors in this series.
Frances Glover-Bey, Point Guard, Pikesville
Frances’ performance in last year’s championship game was one for the ages. She came off the bench and scored 20 points on a variety of shots from mid range to the 3 point line. That is what I love most about her game, she knows how to make shots. She is not a deadly knock down shooter but she understands angles and body control and just gets the ball in the basket. She is also a capable on ball defender and does not make a lot of mistakes. Every team needs steady players like Frances.
Kayla Henderson, Point Guard, Coppin Academy
Kayla is a lightning fast point guard with a score first mentality. She is very effective off the dribble due to her solid handle and killer first step. She can knock down enough threes in a game to keep defenders honest, but her strength is getting to the basket and finishing. Kayla can also lock down on defense as she has stellar footwork and is hard to get by.
Henderson
Mykiah Ross, Power Forward, New Town
“Kiki” is a big girl and is very skilled. She is a legit six footer that can handle the ball and make good passes. She is tough to handle inside because she is mobile and knows how to use her body to get shots off.
Madyson Hinton, Center, Glen Burnie
Madyson, also known as “Butta” is a very skilled and high IQ player. She has a nice post up game and can knock down perimeter shots as well. She is a very good post defender and rebounds well. She is a legit six footer and can move some bodies around in the paint.
Jada Bright, Center/Forward, John Carroll
Jada is a high academic post-power forward with tremendous upside. She is tough and fiesty and has solid fundamentals. Jada is a good help defender and has a knack for blocking shots.
Saniha Jackson, Center, River Hill
Saniha is a solid post player that checks in around 6’1″. She is a good rebounder and can knock down shots up to 15 feet. She has soft hands and a good touch inside so she finishes well. She was a key player in RIver Hill’s run to last year’s 2A championship.
Morgan Gray, Center, Chesapeake-AA
Morgan is one of my favorite players out of Anne Arundel county. A legit six footer, she is wiry and deceptively strong. Morgan is a legit shot blocker because she uses timing and has good instincts in help defense situations. She uses her body well in the paint to shield defenders as she scores with flip shots, jump hooks and put backs. She can definitely help a DII or DIII program right away and she is open to all options.
