West Orange Warriors Standout at Brazz Sports Preseason Classic
The West Orange Warriors of Winter Garden got out to a hot start against the Lake Gibson Braves and didn’t look back from there. West Orange looked great from the start by taking control with a high level of play for preseason action in a 71-48 win over Lake Gibson. The Warriors won 23 games last year, and they are looking to repeat that effort this season.
Senior Camryn Siemer led the way for West Orange with 26 points on six 3 pointers in the contest. She did not miss often from behind the arc or at the charity stripe with her silky stroke. The Warriors also feature two top prospects who are some of the best in the state in the Sophomore class. Paris Pickett is a 6’3 force down low who had 14 on the night. She is tough to defend with her strong moves to the left and solid frame. Ajalon Gillard is the other Sophomore who looks smooth and mature on the floor already. She had 7 points, and did a little bit of everything with some pretty dimes to her teammates.
Junior Lakada Bryant is another force in the post that had 9 points against the Braves. I really enjoyed watching Kyla Cruz play as she had 9 points and might be the X-factor for them, and this team really doesn’t have a weak link on their shallow roster.
Lake Gibson struggled throughout the game against this tough matchup, but they were a 22-win team last year that has some potential in Lakeland. The bright spot for the Braves was Olivia Hill-Riley McGlashin with 25 points who is poised to have a strong senior campaign.
