Zion Neat and Victoria BakerAt the top, I would be shocked if Desoto featuring 8 or 9 D1 players, I lost count but Asha Thompson (Old Dominion) leads the way and on paper, they should run into Vista Ridge and talented seniors Victoria Baker (UC Irvine) and Zion Neat (Southern Arkansas) as well as one of the top juniors in the state, AJ Marotte in a 2nd round game which is great for me because it’s at 7 pm and I’m only there for most of opening day. Waller, with senior Laila Blair (Houston) as well as sophomore Kailyn Peters and freshman D’Asia Thomas, one of the tops in Texas may face the winner in the quarterfinals.
Victoria RiveraThe next group of 8 has 3 out of state teams, Plano is ranked #2 in the state by TABC, Florida signee Jordyn Merritt tore her ACL earlier in the season so she’s out so I won’t catch their squad not Bishop Lynch who year after year is one of the top PRIVATE schools in the state and they’re led by junior Paige Bradley who has already committed to Texas and they open with the third area squad, Dobie, featuring sophomore Victoria Rivera and freshman Janae Tucker but let me close with this, they are coached by Jasmine Hartman who starred at Bellaire and then Oklahoma and her Bellaire squad was the second area team to win Sandra Meadows, in 2007, the year after my daughter’s Westside squad became the first. How do I know, because I was there if I wasn’t, I read more than 280 characters
