Though Dulaney High School’s game against Kenwood High School on November 25, 2019 was only a scrimmage, the Lions showed many reasons why their season will prove promising.

1) Standout Player: Sammy White (#14): The Lions’ clear star player—both athletically and instinctively—White proved that her performance will be crucial to Dulaney’s success this season. A junior committed to Northwestern University to play lacrosse, it is evident her natural abilities as a leader and team-player assist her on the basketball court as well. Though she was the most skilled player on the floor, she often also showed the most hustle and aggression, diving for loose balls and converting defensive rebounds into buckets across-court. Despite her limited playing time, as the game was a scrimmage, White managed to score an impressive 20 points for the Lions.

2) Guard Play – Besides White’s obviously dominant guard play, the Dulaney squad is composed of a mighty group of guards who will only improve their chemistry as the season progresses. Though much of Dulaney’s scoring was from put-backs and fast-break opportunities, Maggie Else (#3) proved Dulaney can drain jumpers too, finishing the scrimmage with seven points.
