What’s the biggest strength of your game?
Alaina Diaz:
I think my biggest strength is my defense. I love to shut the best player down. It’s a challenge. On offense, to get the ball in the hole, whether it’s me or my teammates, and seeing the whole floor.
Question:
What do you envision your role being on your high school team?
Alaina Diaz:
Im only a sophomore, but I think when it’s a team it’s important for everyone to be a leader regardless of age. That’s what makes a productive team.
Question:
Do you have any personal goals for this season?
Alaina Diaz:
To continue to grow in the game and be the best I can be for the team. Be a leader and help bring us to a state championship.

What are your teams’ goals this year?
Alaina Diaz:
Our teams’ goal is to of course go to State! That would be amazing. But even more so to come together and work together. We’re family.
Question:
Who are a few teammates of yours that fans should look out for?
Alaina Diaz:
A few teammates to look for is everyone who steps on that floor. We’re all important. Basketball is a team sport not an individual sport. Every person plays and important role. We need to be encouraging on the floor and off. Constantly cheering for each other.
Question:
What do you think will be your teams strengths?
Alaina Diaz:
As a team…we have so many athletic talented players so we need to utilize that and work like a machine together.
Question:
Any games your looking forward to this season?
Alaina Diaz:
I am looking forward to playing East Kentwood and Rockford. Yes. Looking forward to those two for sure.
Question:
What makes your coach a great leader?
Alaina Diaz:
Coach Glass really is passionate about his team and each girl that steps on the floor. I love that he trusts me and pushes me to be the best I can be on the floor and in life. Each coach on the bench plays an important role and I’m thankful for that.
