The top five teams based on performance will be released every Sunday evening except for this week, which will be Monday morning due to the games last night at the Journey to the Tourney.
Week 2 (week ending Dec. 1)
Division 1
1. Fairmont (2-0) remains the #1 team in Division 1 in the Dayton area after a big weekend al Lakota West. No games last week, but three big games this week including Fenwick tonight, at Springfield on Wednesday and a huge showdown at Wayne on Saturday night a game that will be covered by PGH Ohio.
2. Wayne (3-0) struggled in the first half on Saturday night against Tecumseh, only to turn it on in the third quarter and take the lead, cruising to a 66-47 victory. The Warriors travel to Beavercreek on Wednesday and as mentioned, host #1 ranked Fairmont on Saturday night.
3. Springboro (1-0) off last week, but comes back strong on Monday as they host perennial power Mason on Monday night. They also host Northmont on Wednesday and Miamisburg on Saturday.
4. Centerville (1-1) an easy 74-48 win over New Albany on Friday moved them to 1-1 on the young season. Amy Velasco Amy Velasco 5'8" | CG Centerville | 2021 State OH led the Elks with 23, Cotie McMahon Cotie McMahon 5'11" | SG Centerville | 2022 #28 Nation OH added 17, Emma Stanley 11 and Kendal George Kendal George 5'9" | CG Centerville | 2023 State OH scored 10. The Cincinnati Trailblazers come to town on Tuesday night and then they host Springfield on Saturday.
5. Bellbrook (3-0) A tough opening stretch to open the season sees the Eagles 3-0. They defeated Waynesville 58-53 last week in their lone game. Bellbrook hosts Dunbar on Monday and Franklin on Saturday.
Division 2
1. Carroll (1-1) lost to Purcell Marian in their season opener 42-33 but remains #1 when they bounced back against Roger Bacon 43-38 for the win. Junior Megan Leraas led with 16 point including 5 from beyond the arc. Sarah Ochs Sarah Ochs 5'5" | CG Dayton Carroll | 2022 State OH added 14 points. The Patriots travel to Wyoming Monday night, then play at Fenwick on Wednesday.
2. Jonathan Alder (2-0) played once last week, and cruised past Bishop Ready 84-26 to remain unbeaten on the season. The Pioneers host Graham on Wednesday and then bring in Kenton Ridge on Saturday. Seniors Sydney Bourquin and Abby Jones Abby Jones 5'10" | SF Jonathan Alder High School | 2020 OH continues to lead the way for JA.
3. Chaminade Julienne (3-1) big win against Legacy Christian, a top five D4 team 47-36 as Staci Greene led with 14 points. They also beat a previously unbeaten Badin team 48-42 behind Jordan Varise with 14 points. CJ travels to Alter on Wednesday night for a huge rivalry game, then McNicholas comes to down on Saturday. They moved up spot from last week.
4. Valley View (1-2) lost to D1 Miamisburg 49-43 to drop their second game of the season before bouncing back with a 68-23 victory over Brookville on Saturday morning. Big game Monday night as Valley View travels to Edgewood before hosting Oakwood on Thursday and head to Monroe on Saturday.
5. Trotwood Madison (1-0) opened their season with a 22-point victory against Kenton Ridge as Quanitaijah Huffman led the attack with 24 points with freshman Raeven Raye-Redmond Raeven Raye-Redmond 5'8" | CG Trotwood Madison | 2023 State OH added nine points in the win.
Division 3
1. Versailles (3-1) Remains #1 this week. Solid week for the Tigers as they defeated Delphos St. John and Covington. They defeated DSJ 71-54 as Brooke Stonebraker led with 19, Lindsey Winner Lindsey Winner 6'1" | C Versailles High School | 2020 OH 12 and Caitlin McEldowney 11. In a 59-26 win over Covington, Winner led with 15, McEldowney added 14. Play Fort Recovery and Miami East this week.
2. West Liberty Salem (3-0) big win against D2 ranked Tippecanoe team last week 40-35 as Selena Weaver led with 18 and Emily Hollar Emily Hollar 5'7" | CG West Liberty Salem | 2022 OH added 15. WLS then defeated Miami East on Saturday behind Weaver again. She is a 6-foot junior who has vastly improved. Huge game Tuesday against Fort Loramie, then Thursday at Triad, Saturday vs Northeastern.
3. Arcanum (3-1) won twice last week, including a 71-45 win against Lehman Catholic on Saturday. The Trojans travel to Bethel on Thursday for a CCC matchup. They move up one spot from last week.
4. Waynesville (1-2) lost to Bellbrook last week 58-53 despite 17 points from Leah Butterbaugh, 13 from Carli Brown and 12 from Isabella Cassoni. Second loss in a row for the Spartans. Looks to get back on the winning track Tuesday hosting Madison, Thursday vs Shawnee and Saturday at Northridge.
5. Anna (2-0) the Rockets won their first two games of the season. They defeated Botkins 42-29 last week as 6-2 senior Lauren Barhorst scored 16, Kiplyn Rowland scored nine and Ella Doseck Ella Doseck 5'6" | PG Anna | 2021 OH pitched in eight. They play Lehman Monday, New Bremen on Tuesday and Russia on Saturday.
Division 4
1 (tie). Tri Village (4-0) earned two more wins last week including a 76-34 win over Bradford, as Rylee Sagester Rylee Sagester 5'6" | CG Tri Village | 2023 State OH led with 21, Maddie Downing Maddie Downing 6'1" | C Tri-Village High School | 2020 OH 15, Morgan Hunt Morgan Hunt 5'10" | PF Tri Village | 2023 State OH 14 and Meghan Downing Meghan Downing 6'2" | C Tri Village | 2022 State OH 10. They also defeated Ansonia 75-16 as Maddie Downing Maddie Downing 6'1" | C Tri-Village High School | 2020 OH had 22, Sagester 17, Hunt 14, Meghan Downing Meghan Downing 6'2" | C Tri Village | 2022 State OH 12. They return to action Thursday at #3 ranked Franklin Monroe in a huge game.
1 (tie). Fort Loramie (3-0) their defense has not allowed more than 19 points in a game the first three games of the season. Their defense is suffocating and are so balanced its scary. Dominated Fairlawn 84-17 as Marissa Meiring Marissa Meiring 5'10" | PF Fort Loramie High School | 2020 OH had 15, Dana Rose Dana Rose 6'0" | SF Fort Loramie | 2021 State OH and Kenzi Hoelscher each with 12, Riley Heitkamp with 11. On Saturday they destroyed Russia 71-15 behind Rose with 15, Hoelscher 11 and Meiring 10. Due to their incredible start, they are moving up and sharing the top spot in D4 with Tri Village.
3. Franklin Monroe (3-0) what an incredible game on Saturday against ranked Legacy Christian as FM wins 38-37 in a game covered by PGH Ohio. Corina Conley Corina Conley 6'0" | C Franklin Monroe High School | 2020 State OH showed why she is ranked in the top 25 in Ohio in her class. Balanced perimeter attack with Belle Cable and Audrey Cable. FM hosts #1 Tri Village on Thursday.
4. Mechanicsburg (4-0) the Indians enter the rankings after a strong 4-0 start to the season. They have been led by senior Kasey Schipfer (pictured above) and junior Grace Forrest. Mechanicsburg travels to West Jefferson on Thursday and hosts Triad on Saturday.
5 (tie). Legacy Christian (1-2) drops to the #5 spot after a pair of losses to ranked CJ and ranked FM. They look to get back on the winning track this week with a league game against Jefferson.
5 (tie). Minster (2-1) after a win against Celina, the Wildcats return to action this week against Parkway and Jackson Center.
