La Costa Canyon Top Performances from the Night:
2020, 5’9, F, Lindsey Zeintek – shooting guard with a nice stroke on her three ball, not afraid to attack the rim and work for some easy buckets. Tough on defensive side of the floor, but is scrappy in her approach to the game. Fairly athletic and is quick and strong for her size. Loved her competitive spirit for her team.
2020, 6’0, PF, Hannah Etheridge – bruiser in the middle of the paint, is very aggressive on the floor, has some nice post moves and not afraid to mix it up in the paint to grab much needed rebounds. Has some great size on her and makes the right plays on the floor all of the time. She had about 2 assist in this game I watched her play.
2022, 5’5, PG, Megan Quain – crafty point guard that is young and knows how to play the game, her IQ on the floor is above average for her age and she will only get better as the year goes on. Quick, strong, smart, aggressive and is one of the better defenders on the team, this kid has a lot of heart.
2020, 6’0, PF, Haley Dumiak – tough post player with some very nice skills in the paint, she can drop step over the left and right shoulder and lay that wood into her defender for a bucket. She is smart and waits for the lane to clear out before making her move to the basket, which allows her to have her eyes open for the cutter from her team. Really like what i saw from this kid, some potential her forreal.
Clovis High School Top Performances from the Night:
2020, 5’10, SG, Avery Evans – Stud of a guard, she is strong, smart, has nice speed on the floor and is one of the most effective offensive weapons on the floor. She has a very nice stroke on her three ball and she is also crafty with the ball when driving to the whole. She knows when to cut back door and use her body to fend off defenders.
2020, 5’7, SG, Chloe Van Ness – She is the shooter of the bunch, she knocked down three three-pointers in this game and some key midrange points for her team. She is a solid defender, she is smart and she is illusive to me, she is not quick but fast on the floor and handled the ball with confidence. Spotted up in the corner and gave her team buckets for the win.
2020, 5’6, SG, Meron Mesfin – Solid guard off the bench for her team, she is solid with the handles, she is solid with her shot and she can get to the rim off the cut anytime on the floor. Comes in for her team as the secondary guard, but can coexist with the the main point guard and make for a dangerous duo on the floor.
2021, 5’7, PG, Kiley Butchert – Solid point guard that does not turn over the ball, runs the offense for her team and can draw the foul off the dribble to the rim. Shoots the ball well from midrange and is effective going to the rim, but she will have to work on her three ball to be really effective at the next level. Very high IQ for the game, she is definitely a player for the next level, she has the goods

Game Time: 7:30pm
Final Score: Bonita Vista (71) vs. Palos Verdes (32)
Bonita Vista Top Performances for the Night:
2021, 5’8, SG, Julia Cosalan – Julia is playing well tonite, has already hit about five three-pointers in this game and a few layups in transition, she is sure not afraid to shoot it, she put up every open look she got, this Bonita Vista team is not afraid to let it fly. She did well on the defensive end, but her in between game needs some more fine tuning. Julia is a player and always plays hard, she is tough and gritty as they come.
2021, 6’0, SF, Keyana McCoy – Keyana is special, she is a hybrid player that can probably guard 1-4 on the next level, she is skilled, she is tough and a coaches player. If you watch her play, she is the key player for this group with her versatility, she scores from all three levels and is one of the best players at her position in San Diego.
2023, 6’0, SF, Madison Canon – Madison is unorthodox in her approach to the game, but she is really effective at what she does, she is tough to the rim thru contact as well. She scores all around the basket like a bull in a china shop approach, which works for the team dynamic she plays in. She is getting more skilled as I watch her play and she is gonna improve on the smoothness to her game in the long run. She is a must watch freshman in San Diego and she will get better each and every game.
Palos Verdes Top Performances for the Night:
2021, 5’4, PG, Kelsey Hatamiya – She is a crafty guard that is not afraid of any opponent on the floor, she is fearless and will mix it up with anyone on the floor. Went to the basket and scored against the contact, she shot the ball when open and had good form, she handled the ball well against the press. Love her heart she has.
2022, 5’6, G, Brooklyn Simpson – She was another slender and lanky guard on the floor that had a lot of heart as well, she drove to the rim with some success and was a pretty good ball handler that challenged the press. She shot the ball well with good form and was a decent defender on the floor.
2022, 5’5, SG, Erika Yiu – She was the shooter of the bunch, she could knock down three-pointers and handle the rock for her team, she was aggressive on the defensive end as well. Loved to see her compete no matter what the outcome was gonna be for her team. She never gave up and I loved it.
