22 — Cayden “CC” Carter, 5’7, G/F, 2021, Shawnee Mission West
Carter is a do-everything player who brings terrific athleticism and all-around skill to the floor. She is a lock down defender who really gets into opponents at the defensive end of the court. Carter has the ability to handle the ball, run the court and finish in transition, is also strong on the boards and is at her best attack the basket where she is a strong finisher.
33 — Katelynn Ostronic, 5’10, F, 2021, DeSoto
Ostronic went for 11 points in DeSoto’s semifinal loss to Olathe Northwest, leading the way for the Wildcats. Ostronic is a strong forward who can play an inside-out brand of basketball. Ostronic can make an open 3-pointer and is a smart passer but she is at her best as an inside presence, blocking shots, holding down the paint defensively and finishing around the basket.
2 — Joan Reiber, 5’2, PG, 2022, Olathe Northwest
Joan Reiber and 2020 Mary Reiber give Olathe Northwest a strong 1-2 punch in the Raven’s backcourt. Joan Reiber is a tough defensive player who can disrupt opposing players in the backcourt and can help run the point. She handles the ball well, has a high basketball IQ and is an unselfish player who looks for the open player.
13 — Amiah Simmons, 5’8, G, 2021, Blue Valley. Southwest
Simmons showed a quick first step and beat Mill Valley to the basket several times in consolation play on Wednesday and led all scorers with 15 points. She is especially effective facing the goal from 17 to 18 feet and using a quick first step to quickly get around defenders and to the basket. Simmons put together a strong offseason competing for Team KC Hoops and appears to have taken her game to new heights already this season.
3 — Saniya Simmons, 5’3, PG, 2022, Olathe North
While she’s not very big, Simmons has a big impact on the game as she is a strong ball handler and leader at the point. She helps get her team into its offense, can break down defenses off the bounce and brings a lot of energy to the floor.
