Here are some of the games to watch this week:
West Fargo at Fargo Shanley, 5:45 p.m., Tuesday, December 10
Fargo Shanley is coming off a dominant win over Bismarck St. Mary’s to start the year and the Deacons are likely the favorite to win the EDC. West Fargo is in that mix of teams that figures to contend for a top-four seed in the league and has no shortage of talent. McKenna Becher and Chloe Pfau form a really solid 1-2 punch for the Packers while Reile Payne is arguably the best player in the EDC.
Watford City at Bismarck Legacy, 6 p.m., Friday, December 13
Watford City beat Williston to kick off the season while Bismarck Legacy handled Fargo South, so both teams are coming into this one with a win and a week to prepare. The Wolves held Williston to 50 points while forcing 20 turnovers, while the Sabers held Fargo South to just 44 points. Both teams figure to be elite on the defensive end of the floor this year, so this one could be a rock fight.
Jamestown at Bismarck, 6 p.m., Friday, December 13
Two teams that figure to compete for top-four spots in the WDA, Jamestown and Bismarck both started the year with wins. The Demons put up 75 points with eight players tallying at least four, so the balance could be a strength again this year. Mandie Picard had 12 points and 10 rebounds while Jilee Golus scored 14 points. Jamestown has a terrific group returning led by Kameron Selvig, Grace Hegerle and Ella Falk. Selvig had eight points and seven assists while Hegerle had 16 points and six rebounds in the Bluejays’ win over Valley City.
