The power rankings for this week are determined by games completed prior to December 11th and all teams listed belong to the Northwest District board and subsequent sectional and district tournaments.
Division 1
1. Notre Dame Academy
2. Southview
3. Perrysburg
4. Northview
5. Findlay
NDA continued their outstanding start to the season with a convincing win over Magnificat. Perrysburg has a loss to Southview on the season, but did defeat Northview. Southview and Northview play each other on Thursday – provided us with even more clarity on the area’s D1 pecking order.
Division 2
1. Bellevue
2. Napoleon
3. Shelby
4. Willard
5. Toledo Central Catholic
Bellevue’s win over Southview was as impressive as any for D2 schools in Northwest Ohio through the first few weeks of the season. Although Toledo Central Catholic lost to Margaretta this week – their effort in that loss caught our attention. TCC’s tough schedule is preparing them for a potential post-season run.
Division 3
1. Hopewell Loudon
2. Margaretta
3. Ottawa Glandorf
4. Liberty Benton
5. Ashland Crestview
Hopewell Loudon is steam-rolling opponents – scoring a lot of points and playing a lot of kids. Margaretta faces Bellevue next week – a huge SBC game and one that will surely draw attention from basketball fans all over the state of Ohio. Ashland Crestview joins the top 5 for the first time after a couple of big Firelands Conference victories.
Division 4
1. Ottoville
2. Minster
3. Lucas
4. Toledo Christian
5. Fort Recovery
Toledo Christian has started fast – in large part due to the addition of one of the state’s top players, Madison Royal-Davis (pictured above – Photo Credit; Toledo Blade) from Toledo Rogers. Lucas is still undefeated – they have a big Mid-Buckeye Conference match-up on Saturday against perennial league favorite Loudonville.
