With the recent changes throughout the state to school classifications and district matchups, the Lady Titans seem to be salivating at the opportunity to prove everyone wrong. Their district is composed of some of the top teams in Broward County and will be hard for any team to get out of. Ely, Dillard, St. Thomas and Nova are all in one district. Losing some key contributors over the past few years in graduating seniors, you can see where the leadership legacy has been left behind and followed up on.
This year Nova has two seniors in Trinity Delancy and Jamie Levy, the other fourteen players on the roster are made up of the freshman, sophomore and junior classes. With the consistent pressure that Nova applies through pressing and trapping, teams have a hard time getting the ball past half court. They have players that can stretch the court by knocking down the three ball, playmakers that can get to the basket or create a shot for their teammates and they are relentless on the boards.
Take a look at the players that make Nova Titan Up:
Trinity Delancy (Captain) | Guard | 2020
Trinity brings leadership and scoring to the Lady Titans. She can knock down the three ball, defend, rebound and has a high level of basketball IQ. She’s also an incredible student in the classroom possessing a G.P.A. over 5.0.
Joey Delancy | Guard | 2022
Joey has an all around game. She can take you down on the block to score or hurt you with her mid range ability. Joey has recently been moved to point guard and is blossoming quite well at the position. She’s definitely a player to watch thats on the rise.
Jahnay Mars (Captain) | Guard | 2021
Jahnay is a work horse. If physicality is what you are looking for, you have found it in her. She’s strong, physical and demands the attention of her opponents. Don’t be deceived by her height, she’s a monster on the boards and finishing at the basket is what she does.
Sarei McGill | Guard | 2021
Sarei rates a 10 out 10 on the eye test. She’s athletic, physically fit, can defend and crashes the board. She brings speed to the Lady Titans. Her game has grown over the years as you can see her mid range ball starting to fall consistently. She has a real knack for getting the basketball. If you are looking for a defensive stopper, she’s more than capable of doing that.
Jaime Levy | Guard | 2020
Jaime is a knockdown shooter. She has evolved into doing more for her team than just being able to knock down the three ball. Jaime has developed the ability to create more for her teammates knowing that teams focus on her just to shoot. Her leadership will be valuable for this team going down the strecth.
Ka’Myra Butler | Guard | 2022
Ka’Myra is a long athletic player that can play multiple positions on the floor. Her versatility alone makes her one of the most dangerous players on this team. She can score, defend, rebound, assist, create for her teammates. To be frank, she can do it all. She’s one of the taller players on the team, standing at 5’10, but her skillset is something that sets her apart from the rest. Look for her to have a big year this season.
