PGH Iowa Week 2 Player of the Week: Alexa Ahrenholtz
With 49.51% of the vote, Alexa Ahrenholtz was voted the Iowa Player of the Week. Ahrenholtz had three big games in her team’s first three games of the year. She started the week off by dropping 28 points and grabbing six rebounds in the opening 70-66 come-from-behind win against Underwood. She then had 21 points and six steals in a huge win over Riverside, 74-14. Ahrenholtz followed that up the next night in a 21-point win over Panorama. In that game, she had 36 points and was 11-of-15 from the floor. She hit five 3-pointers in the game and added nine rebounds and eight steals to help her team to the win.
IKM-Manning ended the second week of play a perfect 3-0. Ahrenholtz might be getting the flashy stats but through the first three games of the year, they have had other players score in double-digits six times. IKM-Manning symbolizes what a team win is all about as they play together really well and all have the ability to score the ball. Ahrenholtz consistently brings it on both ends of the floor and that was reflected in her statlines to begin the year.
IKM-Manning has a deep team this year and Ahrenholtz is the clear cut leader. Look for her to continue her blazing play as we get farther into the season. Once again, congrats on being voted the Player of the Week!
