At 6’0, Hefley brings a motor that is always running as she brings energy and leadership to the court. After going 7-13 overall last year, Hefley has helped the team post wins over Arkansas City, Campus and Great Bend.
“The team last year did not do the best we could do, but we kept our heads up,” Hefley says. “I feel like I did my part. I got the highest field goal percentage out of my team.
“The team right now is 3-1 as we head into Christmas break. I believe my performance is going good. I have some things I need to work on to make my performance better. As far as matchups go, I am looking forward to Maize and that is who we play when we come back from break.”
Hefley says the biggest influence on her basketball career to date has been her mom.
“She is the main one that continues to push me to achieve my goals,” Hefley says. “She helps me stay positive when things get bad during season, and I want to make her proud.”
Hefley committed to play at Sterling College over several programs, including Barton Community College, Kansas Wesleyan University and Ottawa University.
“I really love how well the girls get along, and I love how Sterling College focus their faith,” Hefley said. “I want to bring a positive attitude and great effort to the program.”
