Lauran Zwack, Guard, Monticello (2020)
Zwack was the best sideline to sideline guard I’ve watched so far this season. She runs the court extremely well and has the speed and endurance to get to the bucket without much trouble from the Rocori defenders. A UW- La Crosse track commit, Zwack was one of the leading scorers with 14 points for the Magic to secure their win against Rocori.

Griffin was the smallest guard from both teams at 5’3, but that didn’t stop her motor from running. Even when the Spartans were down by 20+ points, Griffin still was a grinder for this Spartans offense. I look for her to be the leader of this Spartans team this season as she chipped in a 12 point outing last night in Monticello.

The youngest star in this one was Katelyn Lindberg. I heard about her before tip-off on how she had a good last game for Monticello but I still had her as my diamond in the rough player, as I hadn’t watched her yet. She put together a very consistent 14 point outing for the Magic and was a good player to watch as she started but also with the Magic up, helped the younger players get better while they were getting some minutes in a lopsided contest.

The Rocori defense could not match up with Cat Terres down low, giving her easy buckets and hitting double digits when it comes to scoring. The guard player of Zwack and Lindberg found Terres with obvious mismatches all night long and Terres played the post with ease.

Olson proved why she is a top 25 2020 prospect in Minnesota. The Vermont commit played with her length especially with grabbing boards. At 6’1, she grabbed tough rebounds, scored at will inside, and overpowered Rocori yet again in his senior year. Monticello played more of a team game last night from some of the scores I’ve seen Olson put up in the past. They had four of their five starters in double figures with Anna Olson being one of them.
