Tavin OliverAbigail Shackleford injury
When you lose a starter that’s also one of the leading scorers, that’s going to hurt and Schackleford went down early with what appeared to be an ankle injury but she compliments Garner in the backcourt nicely and had she played the entire game, who knows
Yates supporting cast
The Lions looked a lot different than when I saw them in the Bellaire Fall League, not sure if everyone was even playing, didn’t have a roster then but I know several players stepped up including Allison Schackleford, Jacoreia Thompson, and Datayia Henegah but none stepped up like Tavin Oliver who hit numeorus big shots down the stretch to help force OT
Cacie ChatmanHow good is Kinkaid?
That’s a good question because they’ve given me different looks at various times this season and to be honest, this was the best I’ve seen them but keep in mind, 6’6 Trinity Curry has been oput, she signed with Prairie View and I’m certain that when they’re at full strength, they will be a force to be reckoned with
Offensive help for Falcons
Olivia Sullivan has been on fire it seems like every time I’ve caught them and her long ball consistency adds to their scheme. December Stevenson attacking and scoring in the paint while Cacie Chatman is showing signs of being a force in the paint, strong body, strong finisher and rebounder
Sophomore’s stepping up
Sullivan falls into this category, well so does Chatman but there are others. Kolby Davis has impressed for what seems like eons and watching her play naturally at the guard spot which fits her properly and making the transition has been good to see. She’s powerful and can take defenders off the dribble, doesn’t have to shoot as much on this squad but that midrange under pressure has been clicking. Jazmyn Williams is another player I saw early in middle school that has elevated her game and watching her create off the dribble to get she shot off from various angles was nice
