With the high school season now in full swing we look to offer another refresh around mid-season. Of the 28 that made their debut the eight below are the highest ranked. For a look at ranking criteria and factors influencing substantial swings in the rankings for some players take a look at this article.
Sharifa Love, 5’10”, W/SF, Wichita East – Love debuts at #37. Love was a Greater Wichita League honorable mention selection. She has superior ability to get to the basket from the wing due to use of head and shoulder fakes paired with a quick step. Having three point range helps open up the lanes. Love’s game includes a good 10′ jumper, good elevation on her shot and rebound attempts, handles and court vision, and good transition speed. An all-around threat.
Alie Fulks, 5’7″, PG/SG, Shawnee Heights – Fulks comes in at #74 and is a Topeka Capital Journal player to watch. A season ago she was selected to the United Kansas Conference first team. Able to shoot quickly from the perimeter off the catch, Fulks has good court vision and moves well without the ball. And while she has shown more scoring athleticism with her right, including a terrific floater, she can finish with both hands. A long limbed player, she makes use of it off the bounce after using change of pace, back up and cross-over dribbles to create space. Last season she averaged 12 points (44% three point percentage with 37 made), 3 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game.
Anaiya Uhde, 5’10”, G, Olathe West – Uhde enters the ranks at #86. In contributor Joel Webb’s recent article he noted that she can “stretch the defense with her perimeter game as well as drive and finish.” She has committed to Johnson County Community College.

Allie Cassel, 5’8″, F, Blue Valley-Randolph – Cassel joins the ranks at #89. A Twin Valley League second team selection Cassel averaged 13.2 points and 10.1 rebounds per game. She is committed to Kansas Wesleyan.
Taylor Tschirhart, 6’0″, C, Blue Valley – Tschirhart debuts at #90. Tschirhart has a solid build. She is a good rebounder and shot blocker who looks to outlet the ball to start a break. She also has the handles to take the ball end-to end-off the rebound. She can to score around the basket with each hand well, including with a reverse layup, as well as knock down the three. Tschirhart is committed to Fort Scott Community College.
Oakley’s Jordyn Lowrie challenges a shot by Stockton’s Ellie Bellerive. Image courtesy of Stockton Sentinel.Caroline Crawford, 6’2″, C, Lansing – Crawford comes in at #95. Long limbed and athletically built, she is a shot blocking presence inside who also understands when to wall up. Her abilities extend well beyond the paint. She is quick enough to be the point on full court pressure, fast enough to beat a back court double team, and handles well enough to take the ball up the floor off the rebound. A high IQ player Crawford plays within herself. She takes care of the ball off the defensive rebound, has good hands to go up quickly off the catch, keeps the ball up high on offensive rebounds, and uses power dribbles to score against contact. While she has three point range her perimeter game is still developing. Last season she averaged 6.9 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 1 block. Crawford won a gold medal playing for Team USA at the International Volleyball Federation’s 18U World Championships and is committed to play Volleyball for Kansas University.
Jordyn Lowrie, 5’10”, PF, Oakley – Debuting at #102, Lowrie is arguably the best post player in the Mid-Continent League. She is athletic and quick enough and to use her length on the point on the press. Lowrie also runs and finishes well in transition. Solid defensively with shot blocking ability on the offensive end she is heady, passes well, and puts together multiple moves both in her back-to-basket game and face-up game.
