Continue ReadingI read an article somewhere about several of the top seniors in the Metroplex being out for the season with an ACL injury and this is something that I’ve seen first hand either from coaching AAU when it really was AAU to even watching my daughter, Sydney Colson, tear hers at Texas A&M before her sophomore season, ESPN did a story of her 4 months and a day comeback, but it’s not the end of the world, my daughter finished her college career with a National Championship and has been in the WNBA for many years, most recently with Las Vegas Lady Aces. Some of the Top 25 juniors have also had season-ending tears, Sydney Standifer Sydney Standifer 5'7" | CG Argyle | 2021 State TX (Argyle) Da’Necia Trusty Da’Necia Trusty 6'0" | PF Hastings | 2021 State TX (Hastings) and Kierra Sanderlin Kierra Sanderlin 5'8" | PG Judson | 2021 State #89 Nation TX (San Antonio Justin) but they’ll be back stronger than before, here are some of the changes
[player_tooltip player_id="97637" first="Kendall" last="McGruder"]Kendall McGruder Kendall McGruder 5'9" | SG South Grand Prairie | 2021 State TX -G (South Grand Prairie) nothing like adding more to your game and after knowing she could shoot as well as score off the dribble, two other things just stood out during the Spring Creek MISD Invitational and that was she could get hers in the flow but when it was crunch time, she could take over a game and even more important to go along with both was her mental toughness as she jumps into the Top 10

Kendall Brown Kendall Brown 5'9" | CG Desoto | 2021 State TX -G (Desoto) when you play on a team that’s loaded with next-level talent, at least 7 or 8 already have D1 offers, another has signed, sometimes you can get lost into the crowd unless you know what you’re looking at and I keep saying, all I need is a few minutes to know and she showed me even more than I had already seen. The midrange pull-up is one of the best in her class, not to leave out her physique and finishing strong after contact
[player_tooltip player_id="97631" first="Madison" last="Ott"]Madison Ott Madison Ott 6'0" | SG Centennial | 2021 State TX -G (Frisco Centennial) scores effortlessly is how I’ll jump it off as she jumps into the Top 20 but that “creating off the dribble” usually means you’ll do well at the next level, providing you can shoot it and that she definitely can do. The midrange, the three-ball, she just understands how to score multiple ways including attacking the basket which she showed with regularity
Tori Garza Tori Garza 5'8" | SG New Caney | 2021 State TX -G (New Caney) I think the first thing I tweeted about her was “float like a butterfly, sting like a bee, you can’t stop that jumper, coming from Tori” and if it wasn’t as clever as that, it was close. She’s long, athletic, and just scores in droves from every spot imaginable on the court. Sometimes it appears as if she’s playing “around the world” by herself but on top of the outside game, she can attack off the dribble as she enters Top 20
Isabella Earle Isabella Earle 5'8" | SG Denton Guyer | 2021 State TX -G (Denton Guyer) I really wanted to catch her squad at the MISD event yet time restraints kept me from what I caught over summer and definitely left me with some OMG moments. How cool was her dad was telling me about another player yet failed to mention his own daughter that went completely off. She can score mid to long, creates her shot nicely and can attack from multiple angles and to show me I wasn’t seeing a mirage, she did it again at the HBU Camp
Nyah Wilson Nyah Wilson 5'9" | CG Duncanville | 2021 State TX -G (Duncanville) rounding out the Top 25 with a growth spurt on the court as surprising as the one off the court after I saw her a couple of years ago. She looked good over the summer, enough to be added but her instant offense off the bench for Duncanville left me somewhat speechless because that’s hard to pull off for many yet consistently scoring in double figures on a variety of ways has her JEFFERSONIZED and if you never watched the show, watch hers because she’s Movin On Up
