Below are the results of the Final Four games and the Championship Game along with standout performers of each game.
(Semi-final) Mercer County 69 – Belfry 33
Channing Lewis – Mercer County (5’10” Guard) Senior
Channing had another great all around game. Leading the Lady Titans in points, rebounds, and assists and into the Championship Game. Channing had 18 points on 7 for 10 shooting from the field, including hitting 2 of 3 from beyond the arc. She also had 6 rebounds and 6 assists to go with 5 steals.
Timberlynn Yeast – Mercer County (5’7″ Guard/Forward) Freshman
Timberlynn, an athletic freshman, also filled the stat line. She finished with 14 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. It was her defense that really stood out. Mercer County ended with 22 steals and Timberlynn had 8 of them.
Cushi Fletcher – Belfry (5’9″ Guard/Forward) Sophomore
Belfry struggled to get anything going in the semi-finals. Cushi did put up 11 points on 3 of 8 shooting, including connecting on one from downtown. She also pulled down 5 rebounds and had 4 steals.
(Semi-final) Christian Academy 52 – Marion County 41
Shelby Calhoun – Christian Academy (5’10” Forward) Senior
Shelby nearly had a triple double in this semi-final game. She led all scorers with 18 points. She had a game high 13 rebounds and 7 steals. The Virginia Tech commit also added 2 assists and 2 blocks.
Ciara Mosely – Marion County (5’8″ Forward) Senior
Ciara again led Marion County in scoring and rebounds. She had 17 points on 8 of 13 shooting from the field. She had a team high 7 rebounds and added 2 steals.
Dailyn Spalding – Marion County (5’9″ Guard) Senior
Dailyn had 15 points, while shooting 4 of 8 from the field. She also knocked down 5 of her 6 free throws. Dailyn added 3 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals.
(Championship Game) Christian Academy 61 – Mercer County 55
Shelby Calhoun – Christian Academy (5’10” Forward) Senior
Shelby was named 2A State Tournament MVP. In the championship game, she led all scorers with 20 points on 9 of 14 from the field. She also pulled down a game high 11 rebounds. She dished out 5 assists. Shelby also contributed on the defensive end as well with 4 steals and 2 blocks.
Jaya McClure – Christian Academy (5’6″ Guard) Sophomore
Jaya struggled from the field, but she still made plays and created for others. Jaya ended the championship game with 13 points and 6 rebounds.
Sydney Raque – Christian Academy (5’11” Guard) Junior
Sydney contributed 11 points on 4 of 10 shooting and also pulled down 5 rebounds. She added 1 assist and 1 block as well.
Mia Beam – Christian Academy (5’8″ Guard) Senior
Mia also added 11 points for the 2A State Champs. She also had 2 rebounds and 1 assist.
Love Mays – Mercer County (5’5″ Guard) Sophomore
Love came into the championship game averaging 7 points per game. She picked a big game to have a breakout game. She had a team high 18 points on 8 of 17 shooting from the field. Love also had 7 rebounds and contributed with 2 assists.
Timberlynn Yeast – Mercer County (5’7″ Guard/Forward) Freshman
Timberlynn had a double double with 11 points and 11 rebounds. She went 5 for 5 from the free throw line. Timberlynn also had 3 assists.
Channing Lewis – Mercer County (5’10” Guard) Senior
Channing was the focal point for Christian Academy’s defense. She made a huge statement with the games leading up to the finals. She ended the championship game with 13 points while hitting 2 of 8 from the field. Channing did hit 8 of her 9 free throw attempts. She added 4 rebounds and 2 blocks.
