Kailyn Gilbert – Tampa Prep
This girl is a walking bucket. She’s the number 2 scorer in the nation (34.7 ppg) as well as being a top 50 rebounder (7th in Florida with 14.3 rpg). Kailyn is a double-double machine who uses her speed and handles to create for herself and her teammates as well as turning the defense over with nearly 5 steals per game. She uses her strength to finish and has good height on her jumper to shoot over a smaller defender. Kailyn has recently picked up offers from Vandy and Penn State, too.
Kayla is a smooth lefty who has good size as a versatile guard/forward. She can score from all three levels and will continue to garner attention from colleges. She’s the number two scorer and leading rebounder on the Lady Blue Devils so far this season.
Another lefty who has big upside is Paris Pickett. She has the best size on this list standing at 6’3. Paris is a big time prospect who should keep improving around the rim and working on her mid-range game. The sky is the limit, and she will have to work hard to get there in the years to come.
She missed about a month or so with a broken finger, but she played well before going out. Ajalon has terrific court vision, can score at all three levels, and is very active defensively. Ajalon and Paris make up a very talented guard/forward combo that should have some very quality years together.
Reilly Webb – Lakewood
Reilly is a player that is very fun to watch as she’s active on both ends of the court. She plays hard all of the time and rebounds with a lot of effort as a guard. Her mid-range game is solid as well as her strength to finish through contact. She’s been nursing an injury this season, but she’s tough as nails by continuing to play through it at a high level.
Maddie is putting up 12.2 ppg for a tough Bishop Kenny team that has played a very strong schedule. She’s one of the best pure shooters I’ve seen who can hit from deep. Bishop Kenny is a much better team than their record indicates with Maddie being a key piece to that.
Jaela Davis – Brooks DeBartolo
This girl can flat out go. She has incredible speed and athleticism with a silky smooth shot. Jaela has contributed 11.9 ppg and a very impressive 4.2 steals per contest. If and when she does steal it from you, good luck catching her.
Shamya Joiner – Florida Prep
She is one of the most energetic players I’ve seen this year. Shamya is an unselfish player who will take a charge for her team and use her positive energy to get the team going. She’s speedy and is tough to stop on the drive. Shamya is also leading her team in assists with 4.2 this year. The Falcons will need Shamya and this next Sophomore to step up in the coming weeks with probably the toughest three game stretch of anyone in Florida with Montverde, Lake Highland Prep, and Miami Country Day.
Paige McDonald – Florida Prep
Paige has a lengthy frame that makes her a great defender and rebounder on each end of the floor. She’s a terrific piece on a super talented 2A Florida Prep team. They play one of the toughest schedules in the state, and it shows in how much Paige has improved throughout the year on her overall game.
Reese Tremitiere – Gulf Coast
Reese is the number two scorer on this Sharks team and also the leading rebounder by pulling down an average of more than nine per game. She passes well, plays tough D, and gets some steals and blocks with intensity. She’s a strong and physical player who can finish with both hands and has nice touch. Reese is a leader on this Gulf Coast team as the only returning starter and one of the only returnees in general.
Katie is one of the best passers in the state. She rarely misses an open teammate and can make that tough pass to get it to them. She’s a smooth operator and facilitator who can also score the rock from anywhere with her creativity. Her vision has put her at 5.2 assists per game which is the best on her team and has her in the top 25 for the entire state.
