This is a conference in south Jersey that features schools near the beach. There is plenty of talent surrounding this conference. These are the top shooters so far this season from the Cape-Atlantic League.
Kira Sides (2020) | Middle Township
Sides may be the best overall player in the conference this season. She is averaging 16.4 points per game while leading Middle Township to a 10-2 start. She has knocked down multiple three-pointers in all but two games this season. Sides has been hot lately with three or more makes from beyond the arc in the last four games. In an early season win over Mainland, Sides knocked down five triples and finished with 27 points.
Ava Casale (2020) | Our Lady of Mercy
Our Lady of Mercy suffered their first loss in their previous game after winning the first 10 of the season. Casale is scoring 14 points per game this season and is getting it done from deep and from the foul line. She has a total of 22 three’s on the season. In a 71-67 win over Cedar Creek, Casale knocked down 13 free throws and five triples on her way to 30 points. Performance in clutch time is what makes Casale such a threat.
Gabby Turco (2020) | Wildwood Catholic
Wildwood Catholic is another Cape-Atlantic League team with double-digit wins who is expected to contend for a championship. They are 11-2 behind the sharp shooting of Turco. She has scored in double-figures in all but one game this season. The senior has knocked down 19 three’s on the season. She has knocked down two or more in the last four games and there is no sign of her slowing down.
Abbey Fenton (2020) | Ocean City
Ocean City is beginning to find a rhythm after a 1-5 start. They have won five in a row and Fenton jump started the streak with a dominant performance against Holy Spirit. She finished with 23 points in the win and hit seven three-pointers. She has knocked down three shots from deep in each of her last three games.
Tatyana Chandler (2021) | Bridgeton
The 4’11 guard has been a burst of energy this season for Bridgeton. It has been tough as of late as the team has lost their last three games but Chandler has got it going from deep. She has knocked down a three in all but one game this season and has five games with multiple three’s. She is a player who can score the ball and gets it done effectively from deep.
