Continue ReadingThe atmosphere was intense and the action was fast at Chandler Park Academy last night. Candler Park welcomed Flint Carman-Ainsworth for a premier January matchup. The pace was quick and the offense came in bunches. Both teams showed that they had multiple players that could put points on the scoreboard at any given time. Flint Carman-Ainsworth won a tough battle by a score of 72-66. While Chandler Park couldn’t quite get over the hump by the final buzzer, both teams showed that they are big time threats come state playoff time.
Jessiana Aaron (2020, Flint Carman-Ainsworth)
Aaron is underrated as a player and a prospect. She can flat out play, handling the ball and being a consistent offensive threat.
Semie Brar (2021, Chandler Park Academy)
Brar went off with 21 points. She scored in a variety of ways and looked very comfortable with the pace of the game.
Arie Lewis (2020, Flint Carman-Ainsworth)
Lewis was particularly impressive last night. She showed range on her jumper and versatility and physicality on the defensive end. Lewis finished with 16 points.
Aaliyah McQueen (2020, Flint Carman-Ainsworth)
McQueen is an elite talent and a Miss Basketball contender. She once again led the way for her squad with 20 points.
Emaia O’Brien (2021, Chandler Park Academy)
O’Brien is one of the best point guards in Michigan and she showed it again in her 22 point performance last night.
I’m going to give you a bonus one since there was so much talent on display.
Dede Smith (2023, Flint Carman-Ainsworth)
The freshman can flat out hoop. She’s an athlete with a game that’s mature beyond her years. Smith had 13 points in this game.
Another bonus player? You bet!
India Repress (2021, Chandler Park Academy)
Repress has a game that goes beyond stats. She’s a glue type player that makes a living off the little things.
