Today, a look at some of the top seniors who shined on Saturday, as eight games were held. Throughout this week, I will take a look at some of the top performers from both Saturday and Sunday.
Emily Seboe Emily Seboe 5'11" | CG Loudonville | 2020 OH , 5-11 Loudenville
Despite the rough margin of defeat by the Redbirds, it was Seboe who tried to keep them in the game. Emily is a solid multi-dimensional player who moves well without the ball, and can score well from the perimeter. She is a good floor general and despite the fact that her offense was off on Saturday, you could tell she is a fantastic player.
Marissa Meiring Marissa Meiring 5'10" | PF Fort Loramie High School | 2020 OH , 5-8 Fort Loramie
Undersized for her position, but Marissa can mix it up in the paint, or step out for a short jumper. She is a physical presence on the floor, gets to her position and seals her opponent well. Marissa is a vocal leader and has good range out to 15-feet. Also has good footwork in the paint. She ended with nine points on the day.
Taylor Malson, 5-6 Margaretta
Was impressed how she ran the floor in their win over Tri Village. Taylor had a good midrange shot, and could pump fake and draw the defender off before getting by her to the rim. Solid on-ball defender who was aggressive and anticipates well. Taylor was solid from the free throw line, and hit three from beyond the arc. A solid 14-point performance.
Jayden Moore Jayden Moore 5'8" | CG Margaretta | 2020 OH , 5-8 Margaretta
Like her teammate, I was impressed with Jaydens perimeter game She was deadly from behind the arc, connecting on five triples which helped the Polar Bears build a big lead on Tri Village before hanging on for the win. Physical player enabling her to score inside the paint. More was strong on the boards, and a good leader.
Alanna Carter, 5-9 Mason
Solid all-around player who can not only score from the perimeter, but does other things well. Solid rebounder and efficient passer to get the best shot. Solid defender, athletic and will just make plays happen for her team. Can finish at the rim, strong physical player.
Shae Pedroza Shae Pedroza 5'5" | CG Napoleon High School | 2020 OH , 5-5 Napoleon
Really liked her game, as she was one of the steadiest seniors on the day. Shae is a scrappy, hard-working aggressive guard who gets after it. Athletic and good on-ball defender. Good lateral movement on defense. Finished with 14 points. Loved the way she played and her leadership.
Peyton Davis, 5-5 North Canton Hoover
This guard really does a great job creating shots for herself or her teammates. Peyton can explode to the rim and score, run the transition game well and is a slasher. Good floor leader, knows where to be. Good midrange shot. Excellent defender.
Kierra Thornton, 5-9 Fairmont
While Westbeld and Bartley shine every night in the paint, putting together a solid senior year is Kierra. She is a strong aggressive guard with a good skill set. Has the ability to score from the perimeter and play solid defense. Not afraid to penetrate to the rim.
