Here are our quick observations.
Olivia Mullins, Rutgers Prep: The point guard, who is headed to Saint Joseph’s University in the fall, had the hot hand against Notre Dame. She drained two 3-pointers and had her full offensive arsenal on display on the way to a team-high 16 points.
Erin McNulty, Mount St. Mary: The transfer from Union Catholic, who had to wait 30 days before she could join her new squad, looked right at home. She handled the ball, shot well from the outside and attacked the basket, scoring 13 points in an upset win against Hudson Catholic.
Nasira Williams, Montclair Immaculate: Williams is one of the best 3-point shooters in the state. The senior connected from deep four times on the way to a game-high 16 points against Elizabeth. She got it done on the defensive end of the floor, too, making four steals.
Erika Porter, Notre Dame: Her squad may have been blown out, but Porter did her part in a 63-33 loss to Rutgers Prep. The 6-2 post player muscled her way around the paint en route to a game-high 18 points, including 15 after intermission.
Iris Azcona, Trenton Catholic: The sophomore had to sit out 30 days after transferring from Life Center but wasted no time in making her presence felt in her TCA debut. She connected on two 3-pointers and scored 13 points in a win against St. Anthony’s from New York. She also handed out a team-best five assists.
