Ashley YorkAshley York-G (Pin Oak) several things stood out early but the main thing was she understands how to score a variety of ways and thinks the game. Attacking the basket and finishing with contact happened over and over but her ability to not only create the shot but make it was big at this stage and I love her upside
Amabel Ajakaye-G (Village School) it was great to see some of the younger players since I’ve watched the varsity almost a dozen times this season but Ajakaye is raw in many areas yet she sizzled at times. She attacks and finishes well, showed the midrange but playing defense and that ever so important passing lane was nice
Ja’khalan Green & Joryan HarperBeaumont in the house and I’m talking Vincent and Marshall. The inside play from Vincent was strong at times, good upside from several players on their squad and the same can be said for Marshall because Joryan Harper finished strong as well as rebounded on both ends yet the energy from Ja’khalan Green got my adrenaline going as she was everywhere and her big steal to put team in position to win came up short but she did it
Tailor Perkins and Asia Davis
Tailor Perkins-F (Plummer) she’s on the verge of something big, her energy and athleticism plus her desire just caught me off the top as she played the passing lane and anticipated from all over the court while leaving her position for steals yet she was quick enough to get back. She attacks relentlessly, finishes with contact and has “ups” and “timing” which got her rebounds and blocks galore
Asia Davis-F (Plummer) good size and length and understands positioning which is pretty big at this stage but her ability to finish from numerous angles as well as facing the basket to score were definitely bright spots. With the tools she has, her upside is good, she won’t give up and goes after the ball of the backboards as well as on the floor
