In this piece, we’ll be diving deep on the freshman class with a little analysis on some of the more compelling prospects and what they bring to the table. We love keeping tabs on who got next in the Garden State. They may not be household names quite yet, but we’re sure to log many hours over the next four years watching these girls in the winter and spring!
Trenton Catholic’s Aalyah Del Rosario has notched a double-double in every game this season and although she’s only a freshman, has already proven to be one of the best post players in the state.
Trenton Catholic’s Zoe Brooks was a dominant scorer in middle school. Apparently, she can get buckets on the next level too, scoring 20 points and taking home MVP honors in the finale of the ESCIT.
Manchester’s Angelica Velez leaves her fingerprints on games with her ability to get easy buckets for teammates and by locking up on defense.
Paul VI’s Hannah Hidalgo is averaging over 17 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists per game but her most impressive stat is her six steals per outing.
Morris Catholic’s Tyonna Bailey has had some big scoring and rebounding games to start the season, highlighted by a 27 and 17 night against Paramus Catholic.
