Nez had 19 points in the win, and that’s without seeing any action at all in the 4th quarter. Flagstaff let the backup players get some experience in the game during the 4th quarter and decided not to run the score up any higher. Nez not only does a good job with shot selection, she’s also good at drawing the foul.
She also had a nice number of rebounds and assists in the game, too. Nez, combined with her teammates Miyah Verse and Emma Doskicz, scored a total 39 points in the game. The chemistry on the court between these three especially was strong.
While the stats for the entire season aren’t listed online, you don’t need those to see that Nez is one of the strongest players on the team as only a sophomore. All you have to do is watch one game and you’ll be able to see. When she steps on the court, she has a leadership presence about her and she does a great job of setting her team up for plays.
The one place where Nez could still use improvement is at the free throw line. In the game, she was six for nine from the line, but it’s something she can easily improve on with more practice.
Make sure to keep an eye out for Nez as the season continues. She, along with some of her other teammates at Flagstaff, have been outstanding on the court.
