Continue ReadingMany of the top recruits in Colorado’s 2020 class have already committed to play college basketball, and many of them will play at the Division-I level. Many of them will also play their college ball right at home in Colorado. But plenty of the Centennial State’s talented seniors remain uncommitted or are still in search of offers.
For a refresh, check out Part 1 and Part 2 and Part 3 of this list. Here are still four more Colorado seniors who are still available.
Destinee Paulk
Destinee Paulk, 5-6, G, Cherokee Trail
Paulk is at her best when she is attacking the basket, which she does ferociously. The senior guard has a solid frame and doesn’t often get pushed off track while weaving through defenders, and she has the strength to finish through contact. Paulk also can jump stop and either pass or score with a decent pull-up jump shot in the mid range when she does get cut off from the hoop.
So far as a senior, Paulk is averaging 8.9 points, a team-high 3.9 assists, 3.4 rebounds and 1.7 steals per game. She has made three of the seven 3-point attempts she has attempted and is shooting 79 percent at the free-throw line.
Kaya Evans
Kaya Evans, 5-10, SG/SF, Vista PEAK
She doesn’t look big at first glance but Evans has great length and excellent footwork that allows her to compete with talented players at multiple positions. A strong defender, a good shooter and able to utilize a euro step effectively, Evans is currently averaging 10.8 points per game while shooting 34 percent (21 for 62) from 3-point distance.
Evans has applied to Clark Atlanta University and the University of Wyoming and at least four JUCO schools have reportedly contacted Vista PEAK head coach Howard Payne about Evans.
Jada Dupree, 5-3, G, Pueblo South
Dupree has stepped into the void left by Pueblo South graduating multiple talented seniors from last year’s team. So far as a senior, the 5-foot-3 guard is scoring 17.6 points per game while also averaging four rebounds and three assists per game. In her highest-scoring game of the season, Dupree put up 26 points while shooting 62.5 percent (10 for 16) from the field. Dupree has also ramped up her perimeter shooting this season, having made 11 of 39 attempts through nine games.
An excellent athlete, Dupree is also a state-qualifying sprinter during the track and field season in the spring.
Callie Allen
Callie Allen, 6-0, F, Fruita Monument
Allen has good drop-step and double moves in the post and good speed for a forward, which allows her to run the floor and score regularly in transition. She is also a good offensive rebounder and defender, with the ability to limit opposing post players and we all affect shots from driving guards. The senior doesn’t take plays off, blocks out consistently and has great instincts off the ball that make her an effective passer in the Wildcats’ offense.
Through 12 games, Allen is averaging 14.6 points, seven rebounds, 1.6 assists and 2.2 steals per game. She is shooting 38 percent from the field and her highest-scoring game of the season was a 21-point outburst during a 54-53 win over Skyridge on Dec. 7.
