Hamilton made quick work of both Perry and Chandler (both wins on the road), I think this game will be much more competitive.
Hamilton Key Players:
Amyah Reaves 5’7 2021 G
Zakiirah King 6’0 2020 F
Samara Curry 5’11 2021 F
Victoria Davis 5’5 2020 G
Valley Vista Key Players:
Marisa Davis-Jones 6’1 2021 G/F
Jennah Isai 5’10 2022 G
Saniyah Neverson 6’0 2022 F
Madison Magee 6’0 2021 F
Backcourt Matchup:
I believe Sophie Martinez is still injures for Valley Vista, so expect Jennah Isai to handle most of the guard duties. I would expect that Hamilton will put Amyah Reaves on Isai. That’s a really fun matchup. Both players are super aggressive, Isai definitely has the size advantage, but Reaves has shown that she can more than hang with bigger guards.
I love the way Reaves plays on both offense and defense. I think these two will end up equalizing each other out. I think they’ll both get their points and do good things for their squads.
Frontcourt Matchup:
The front court is where I think Valley may get the upper hand. Valley has a ton of size and are super big if they play MDJ at the 3, Neverson at the 4, and Magee at the 5. That type of size can really disrupt any team, especially since they don’t really lose any athleticism with their big line up.
I would expect either King or Curry to match up with Marisa Davis-Jones. Then the other one will probably guard Neverson or Magee. Hamilton could go big as well if Valley chooses to do so, with Curry at the 3, King at the 4, and Farrington at the 5.
The front court is where I think the game will b decided. The front court and the rebounding battle will probably be the biggest factors of the game. Both squads rebounds tenaciously!
Overall, this is going to be a great game and I am very excited for it! I think it’s going to be a war and will eventually be decided by single digit points.
